The invention relates to a locking device, in particular for a motor vehicle, having a key () and a lock cylinder (), having a cylinder core (), which is mounted in a rotatable manner in a cylinder housing () and has a key channel () into which the key () can be introduced, having spring-loaded tumbler elements (), which are mounted such that, when the key () is inserted into the key channel (), they can be displaced radially in relation to the axis () of the lock cylinder (), and having a plurality of outer surfaces (), which are provided on the key (), have control tracks () and act on the tumbler elements () when the key () is introduced. For this purpose, it is provided according to the invention that the outer surfaces () have two narrow sides () and two broad sides (), wherein each broad side () is configured with a first control track (), the first narrow side () has a second control track (), and the second narrow side (), which is located opposite the first narrow side (), is designed to be free of any control track.

Locking device

A lock device having a key and a lock cylinder. The lock cylinder includes a fixed cylinder housing and a cylinder core mounted to rotate therein. The key shaft () has an edge profile and may be inserted in a key way of the cylinder core in which displaceable tumblers () are located transverse to the above. The key shaft () has profiled recesses running in the longitudinal direction. The recesses have a pair of follow points for each tumbler () for coding the key, whilst the tumbler () has a pair of counter follow points which are the basis of the corresponding counter coding. A space-saving design of the lock device is achieved with a large range of variation for the coding wherein both follow points are on the key shaft () in the form of recesses, arranged on opposing lateral surfaces to an edge () of the edge profile of the key shaft (). A web () is thus generated in the corner region of the edge profile between both recesses. The web functions as a code web (), as the opposing web edges serve for the coding. The corresponding tumblers () have a cut-out, which in use enclose the code web () on opposing web edges. The lateral limits of the cut-out form the counter follow points in the tumblers ().

Lock device with a lock cylinder and a key

A locking device having a locking cylinder and a key. The locking cylinder includes a cylinder core with tumblers in a cylinder core, which is rotatably mounted in a cylinder housing. Standard coding for the key is produced by a step with longitudinal profiling on at least one flat side of the edge profile of the key, said step being associated with a counter step on the tumbler. In addition to the standard coding produced by step and counter step, the key has at least one set of beveled edge coding in a corner section of the edge profile. The beveled edged coding consists of recesses in the form of beveled cuts in the corresponding corner sections of the edge profile, relative to which are provided counter touching points in the corresponding tumbler. In a section of the key shaft, either the standard coding or beveled edge coding can optionally be used, thereby considerably increasing the diversity of the locking device while retaining the space-saving design.

Locking device with a locking cylinder and a key

The invention relates to a cylinder core () which can be mounted in a rotatable manner in a locking device, in particular of a storage compartment or of a glove compartment of a motor vehicle, and has a head region (), which has a key channel () into which a key can be introduced, and a retaining region (), which adjoins the head region () and is formed with a control means () which, when the cylinder core () is rotated about its axis of rotation (), moves an arresting means, which is arranged in the locking device, for a closing and/or opening operation. The invention provides for the cylinder core () to have at least two material bodies (), wherein a first material body () is configured with the head region (), which contains a first plastic, and a second material body () is designed with the control means (), which contains a second plastic, the second plastic having a higher strength than the first plastic.

Cylinder core

The invention relates to a combined mechanical and key comprising a key housing for electronic components and an L-shape flat key ( ). Said flat key consists of a bearing limb ( ) which enables the key to pivot into a storage position and a shank ( ) which mechanically operates the lock. The shank ( ) of the flat key ( ) can be displaced between an inoperative position, retracted into the key housing and an operative position, in which it projects out of the hosing. A push-button preferably also acts as the pivoting axis for the flat key ( ). The push-button and the housing have profiled sections and the bearing limb has co-operating profiled sections ( ), to subject the flat key ( ) to a force in the operative position and to lock the key in one of its positions. The invention aims to produce a simple, cost-effective key. To this end, the flat key is configured as a planar plate ( ) with an L-shaped outline, the shank ( ) sharing the same plane as the bearing limb. The bearing limb ( ) has an opening ( ) in the plate for receiving, in a rotationally fixed manner, an insert ( ) that has the co-operating profiled section ( to ).

Combined mechanical and electronic key, in particular for the locks of motor vehicles

In a combined mechanical and electronic key, electronic components and mechanical flat keys ( ) are normally housed in a common key holder ( ). In order to place the flat key ( ) between a lowered rest position in a holder ( ) and a projecting in-use position, the flat key ( ) is movably located in a container ( ) and secured in at least one of the positions by a push button ( ). The key contain is assembled from an upper and a lower shell. In order to avoid sealing problems between both shells, according to the invention, the upper shell ( ) is provided with an outbreak in a region pertaining thereto which lies outwith the push button. The outbreak creates a void chamber which can be accessed from the outside and is located on the inside of the shell interior. The electronic components are enclosed by a housing-like capsule and form therewith a prefabricated electrocapsule ( ). The electrocapsule ( ) forms a socket unit, which can be inserted thereafter in the void chamber pertaining to the pre-assembled key container ( ). The electrocapsules ( ) are secured in the key container ( ) when inserted in the socket. The push button ( ) is used to advantage for securing.

Combined mechanical and electronic key, in particular for locks in a vehicle

The invention relates to an electronic key comprising electronic components for receiving or transmitting signals. Said components are integrated in a housing ( ). A mechanical emergency key ( &prime;) is provided in case of an electronics failure. Said emergency key ( &prime;) can be inserted into a recess ( ) in the housing ( ) together with its key shaft ( &prime;). The aim of the invention is to produce a key which can be handled easily. To this end, one end of the housing is provided with a recess which is undercut at least in places and which usually prevents the inserted emergency key ( &prime;) from being pulled out. Usually, the key is in a holding position in the housing ( ) with an essentially positive fit. However, the emergency key can be turned in the recess ( ) of the housing ( ) from a holding position to a release position ( &prime;) in which the positive fit between the widening ( &prime;) in the key ( &prime;) and the recess is eliminated in the pull-out direction of the emergency key.
