A camshaft adjuster having a stator drivable by a crankshaft, and a rotor which can be rotationally fixedly connected to a camshaft and having a plurality of vanes projecting radially outward from a radially inner ring, and a torsion spring acting between the rotor and the stator and having spiral turns, which is connected to the rotor by a first radially inner spring end, and to the stator by a second radially outer spring end, and arranged at an axial end of the rotor and of the stator and is secured by a securing part covering the turns laterally toward the outer side, wherein on the rotor, in a radially inner section of the vanes axially projecting pins are provided, arranged on a radially inner section of the rotor and, on the radially inner side of the innermost turn, projecting through the torsion spring.

A camshaft adjuster having a pot-like stator drivable by a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine; and a rotor rotationally fixedly connected to a camshaft of the internal combustion engine; having an outer ring and an inner ring arranged concentrically with respect to the outer ring; and radially oriented webs connecting the outer ring and the inner ring to each other, which subdivide the annular space formed between the outer ring and the inner ring into working chambers, wherein the working chambers are subdivided into oppositely acting pressure chambers by stator webs connected to the stator and projecting laterally into the working chambers; and the rotor is mounted by the outer ring in the radial direction on a cylindrical wall of the pot-like stator, wherein at least one depression forming a pocket to receive hydraulic oil is provided on the radial outer side of the outer ring and/or on the radial inner side of the cylindrical wall of the pot-like stator.

Cam shaft adjuster and method for adjusting the angle-of-rotation position of a cam shaft relative to a crankshaft

A driving wheel () of the camshaft adjuster () is driven by a crank-shaft () via a first traction mechanism drive (). Second and third traction mechanism drives () create a drive connection between the driven part () and two camshafts ().

Device for changing the timing of an internal-combustion engine

A device for changing the control times of gas-exchange valves in an internal combustion engine is provided, which includes a drive wheel () in driven connection with the crankshaft and a vane rotor () fixed with the camshaft. The drive wheel () has a hollow space, which is formed by a hollow cylindrical peripheral wall () and two lateral walls (), in which at least one hydraulic work chamber () is formed by at least two radial limit walls (), which is divided by at least one vane () into an A pressure chamber () and a B pressure chamber (). The vane rotor () can be coupled mechanically with the drive wheel () by a separate locking element (), that can be moved into a locked position within a receptacle () in the lateral walls () of the drive wheel (). The receptacle () is connected hydraulically to the A pressure chamber () via a pressure medium supply groove () provided in an inner surface of the lateral wall (), so that upon pressurization of the A pressure chamber (), the locking element () can move hydraulically into an unlocked position in the rotor hub () of the vane rotor (). According to the invention, a local stop () is arranged within the pressure medium supply groove () in the inner surface of the lateral wall (), through which a pressure medium supply to the receptacle () of the locking element () is possible only through a bypass () when the vane rotor () is in the base position.

Device for changing the control times of gas exchange valves in an internal combustion engine, in particular, a rotating piston adjustment device for angular adjustment of a camshaft relative to a crankshaft

A hydraulic device for adjusting the rotation angle of a camshaft relative to a crankshaft in an internal combustion engine. The device has a rotor, with blades arranged around its periphery. A stator is connected in a rotationally secure manner to a drive wheel. The rotor and the stator together form pressure chambers, which can be filled with hydraulic fluid via a hydraulic fluid system, in which there is disposed a volume accumulator.

Internal combustion engine having a hydraulic device for adjusting the rotation angle of a camshaft relative to a crankshaft

A gearbox with an actuating device for automated shifting and selection of transmission ratios includes a gearbox operating element that is driven by an actuator. The actuator has a drive source with an output element. A swivel movement of the output element causes the gearbox operating element to shift into or out of a transmission ratio or to select one of the shift slots of a shift-gate pattern and to simultaneously apply a force to an energy-storing device. The energy-storing device acts on an intermediate element which acts on the gearbox operating element. At least one retaining element limits the actuation of the intermediate element to a predetermined position.

Measuring system

A device () for the hydraulic adjustment of the angle of rotation of a camshaft () in relation to a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine, situated at the drive-side end () of the camshaft () and formed of a drive unit () that stands in a driven connection with the crankshaft and an output unit () that is connected in rotationally fixed fashion with the camshaft () is provided. The drive unit () stands in a force-transmitting connection with the output unit () via at least two pressure chambers () formed inside the device (), the supply of pressure medium to the pressure chambers () taking place via a separate distributor housing () that has a connecting flange () suitable for transmitting pressure medium to the device () and a control valve receptacle () that is connected to the connecting flange () via two pressure medium conduits (). The output unit () is fastened non-positively to the camshaft (), which passes through the device axially with its drive-side end () and has a hollow construction, the end segment () of the camshaft () being enclosed by the connecting flange () of the distributor housing () and having a plurality of radial bores () that stand in pressure medium connection with additional radial bores () in the camshaft () via a distributor insert () that can be placed into the hollow space () of the camshaft ().

Device for the hydraulic adjustment of the angle of rotation of a camshaft in relation to a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine

An internal-combustion engine with a hydraulic device () for rotation angle adjustment of a camshaft () relative to a crankshaft is provided and includes a rotor with an impeller form (), which is rotationally fixed via a central fastener () to the camshaft, and a stator (), which rotates synchronously with a drive wheel () driven by the crankshaft, wherein on both sides of the impeller blades of the rotor, there are pressure chambers, which are each limited by radial walls of the stator () and can be filled with and emptied of hydraulic fluid via a hydraulic system, wherein the hydraulic fluid is guided, on one hand, via an annular gap () between rotor () and the central fastener () and, on the other hand, through generally axial and radial channels into the pressure chambers. Through the use of a rotor () with a groove () running in the circumferential direction and a ring shaped intermediate element () adapted to the device, the internal-combustion engine can be equipped with a device () for adjusting the rotation angle, for which the number and/or arrangement of the axial channels for supplying hydraulic fluid do not agree with those of the camshaft of the internal-combustion engine. This construction enables the use of the device () on many different internal-combustion engines, without expensive adaptations of the device ().

Internal-combustion engine with hydraulic device for rotation angle adjustment of a camshaft relative to a crankshaft

A cylinder and piston unit, which can be utilized to select the gears of and/or to shift a change-speed transmission in the power train of a motor vehicle, has a housing provided with two internal chambers and internal stops and receiving a reciprocable assembly of three pistons including two interconnected pistons each adjacent a different one of the two chambers and a hollow cylindrical piston which surrounds one of the two interconnected pistons. The chambers can receive a pressurized hydraulic or pneumatic fluid jointly or independently of each other to thus effect movements of the interconnected pistons (with and/or relative to the holow piston) against selected stops and to thus select the positions of the interconnected pistons. Such interconnected pistons can be utilized to select the ratio of the change-speed transmission. The chambers can confine springs which assist or oppose the action of fluid upon the surfaces of the interconnected pistons.

Regulating cylinder and piston unit and method of utilizing the same

An apparatus for varying the phase of the camshaft in the combustion engine of a motor vehicle has an adjuster which is connected to the camshaft and is operable to adjust the phase of the camshaft prior and subsequent to starting of the engine. To this end, the adjuster is connected with a hydraulic drive system which can operate the adjuster while the engine is idle. Once the engine is started, the drive system receives pressurized fluid from the lubricating circuit of the engine. Prior to starting of the engine, the drive system receives pressurized fluid from a source other than the lubricating circuit or from a source which is provided in addition to the lubricating circuit. The other source is preferably the hydraulic circuit of the power steering system (such as a speed-sensitive power steering system) of the motor vehicle.

Apparatus for angular adjustment of camshafts relative to crankshafts in combustion engines

The phase of a camshaft in an internal combustion engine can be changed by the piston rod of a double-acting hydraulic cylinder and piston unit which is controlled by a valve having a spool movable axially by an electromagnet which is adapted to be influenced by a plurality of signals including those from the engine electronics.
