A mixer apparatus for an exhaust gas aftertreatment system of a motor vehicle. The apparatus includes a housing having enveloping, first end, and second end walls. An injection opening for an exhaust gas aftertreatment agent is in the enveloping wall. An inlet opening is in the first end wall. The injection opening is configured for mounting a metering module. A rectilinear metering axis, which extends through the metering module and corresponds to an injection direction of exhaust gas aftertreatment agent injected into the housing, tangentially contacts, at a contact point, a theoretical cylinder, disposed in the housing, having a variable radius and a cylinder axis that is congruent with a central axis of the housing. A region of the metering axis extending from the injection opening to the contact point is located, with respect to inflowing exhaust gas, in the shelter of an opening-free region of the first end wall.

The invention relates to a device for supplying a reducing agent into an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine. The device includes a delivery pump for delivering the reducing agent from a storage tank into an exhaust tube of the exhaust system. A metering device is provided between the delivery pump and the exhaust tube, which metering device supplies reducing agent, which is delivered continuously by the delivery pump, in an intermittent fashion into the exhaust tube.

The invention relates to a dosing system comprising a dosing means for metering a liquid, especially an aqueous urea solution used for the after treatment of exhaust gases generated by combustion engines. The liquid can be conveyed from a reservoir into an exhaust manifold through the dosing means in a normally operating conveying device. According to the invention, at least one area that is located between a dosing point and the reservoir and is impinged upon by the liquid can be emptied counter to a normal transport direction of the liquid.

The invention relates to a metering system for injecting pollutant reducing medium into an exhaust system includes a metering pump, and at least one self-opening nozzle for injecting fluidic media into the exhaust gas system. The nozzle is self-opening with a needle chamber, a nozzle needle and a spring chamber with a spring element. The needle chamber and spring chamber are separated by a flexible membrane which prevents fluidic media from escaping from the needle chamber into the spring chamber, and also permits an excess pressure to prevail in the needle chamber in relation to the spring chamber, causing the nozzle needle to be displaced in opposition to a spring force, thus releasing a nozzle opening. The inventive metering system is cost-effective, robust and can also be used at low operating temperatures.
