A self-energizing disk brake is described. The brake includes an electric actuator in which an activation force is amplified using a self-energizing device arranged between the electric actuator and a brake lining. The system includes a brake application unit for applying the brake lining to a brake disk with an application movement of the brake lining, relative to the brake disk, having a component extending parallel to a rotational axis of the brake disk and another component extending tangentially to the rotational axis of the brake disk. At least one electromotive drive for activating the brake application unit and at least two brake plungers of the brake application unit are provided. Pressure surfaces of the brake plungers have a recess with a ramp shaped contour for engagingly receiving a rolling element.

Self-amplifying disc brake and method for actuating a self-amplifying disc brake

A method for controlling a self-energizing disc brake having an electric actuator in which an activation force applied to the actuator is amplified using a self-energizing device arranged between the actuator and brake lining is described. The method has a brake application unit for applying at least one brake lining to one side of a brake disc by carrying out an application movement of the brake lining relative to the brake disc, the application movement having at least a first movement component in a direction parallel to a rotational axis of the brake disc and a second movement component in a direction tangential to the rotational axis of the brake disc. The method includes also controlling at least one electromotive drive for activating the brake application unit. Rotation of the shaft of the electromotive drive is converted to a non-linear displacement of the brake pad in the tangential direction.

Self-energizing disk brake and control method for a self-energizing brake

A self-energizing disc brake having an electric actuator in which an activation force applied to the actuator is amplified using a self-energizing device arranged between the actuator and brake lining is described. The device has a brake application unit for applying at least one brake lining to one side of a brake disc by carrying out an application movement of the brake lining relative to the brake disc, the application movement having at least a first movement component in a direction parallel to a rotational axis of the brake disc and a second movement component in a direction tangential to the rotational axis of the brake disc. The device also has at least one electromotive drive for activating the brake application unit.

Self-applying disc brake

An electromechanically or pneumatically operable disc brake, particularly for a commercial vehicle, includes a brake caliper, which straddles a brake disc, a brake application device arranged in the brake caliper, and at least one electromechanically drivable adjusting device for adjusting a clearance between the brake pads and the brake disc. In order to operate the adjusting device, an electric motor is actively connected to the assigned brake pistons. The disc brake is designed such that the brake pistons are connected to the respective brake pad via spring elements that can be displaced in a direction of displacement.

Electromechanically or pneumatically actuable disc brake, in particular for a commercial vehicle

A clamp device inserted between two parts can prevent a relative movement between a brake disc and a brake caliper of a vehicle brake. The device includes two plates, with adjustable separation by way of at least two rollers running against each other and rolling on roller surfaces on facing inner sides of the plates. When the rollers are located in the region of a first section of the roller surfaces, the separation of the plates for bringing about clamping in an extended state is greater than the separation adopted by the plates to generate clamping in a withdrawn state when the rollers are located in the region of a second section of the roller surfaces. The position of the rollers relative to the roller surfaces may be altered by an actuator.

Clamp device

A disc brake is provided, especially for utility vehicles, that comprises a caliper that overlaps a brake disc, a brake application device disposed in the caliper that applies the brake and at least one adjustment device comprising an electrical drive. The disc brake is further provided with a mechanical device that blocks the adjustment device driven by an electromotor against an augmentation of the release play that exceeds a threshold value caused by the electromotor drive.

Disc brake having an electrically driven adjusting device

A parking brake for a commercial vehicle equipped with an air-operated service brake is configured in such a way that the actuating energy for the brake is reduced in comparison to a configuration with a spring brake cylinder, while the installation space in the wheel area is minimized. Primary functional parts of the parking brake include an inner race and an outer race, which delimit an annular gap. Displaceable tapered-roller bearings are located in the annular gap. To adopt a release position in opposition to the action of a compression spring, the tapered roller bearings are disengaged from the conical surfaces of the inner race and the outer race.

Parking brake

A control process can be carried out during parking braking by way of a parking brake arrangement. The brake is applied by way of a service brake cylinder, and a position of a piston rod is fixed by rotation of a self-locking rotating spindle and application of the rotating spindle to the piston rod or an element connected in front of the piston rod. By additionally rotating the rotating spindle during parking braking, compensation can be made for shrinkages, particularly of a brake disk and/or brake linings, which occur during brake cooling.
