A dashpot featuring amplitude-dependent shock absorption, especially intended for the wheel of a vehicle and including a hydraulically parallel cylindrical pressure-compensation chamber (). The pressure-compensation chamber is partitioned by an axially displaceable floating piston (). At least one face () of the floating piston is provided with a resilient bumper (). The object is a dashpot with a floating piston that arrives more gently at its limit inside the pressure-compensation chamber (). The bumper is accordingly accommodated in an axial hollow () that extends through the body () of the floating piston.

Dashpot with amplitude-dependent shock absorption

A hydraulic dashpot for motor vehicles, with a cylinder and a primary piston. The cylinder () is charged with shock-absorption fluid. The primary piston () is mounted on the lower end of a piston rod () and partitions the cylinder into two chambers (&). The piston rod travels axially into and out of the cylinder. The primary piston is provided with breaches, with shock absorption valves () that can vary the cross-section of the breaches, and with a bypass system comprising at least two mutually dependently controlled bypasses between the two compartments. The object of the present invention is to improve a hydraulic dashpot of the aforesaid genus to the extent that the at least two bypass channels, although they can be opened and closed mutually dependently, need not be opened and closed sequentially. The bypass system can accordingly be closed and opened to various extents by controls in the form of a slide (), the slide is provided with a flow-control breach (or), and the slide travels back and forth across the two or more bypasses, which extend adjacent through it, a separate breach being provided for each bypass.

Hydraulic dashpot for motor vehicles

A shock-absorbing piston for hydraulic fixtures, especially hydraulic dashpots for motor vehicles, and separating two hydraulics chambers. The body of the piston is breached by one or more ports. The end of each is blocked by a resilient or resiliently loaded cap. The object is to improve the flow of hydraulic fluid. The ports (&) are sickle-shaped and the cap rests eccentric against the face of the piston's body ().
