A plug assembly for an electrical plug extending through a wall includes a first housing part having a contact chamber receiving an electrical contact, a second housing part having a receptacle in which the first housing part is received, and a base plate fastening the plug assembly to the wall. The plug assembly is pre-assembled by fastening the first housing part and the second housing part on different sides of the base plate.

An electrical circuit board plug contact device includes an electrical circuit board contact element and an electrical plug contact element formed separately from the electrical circuit board contact element. The electrical plug contact element is laterally offset with respect to the electrical circuit board contact element and an electrically conductive connection is provided between the electrical circuit board contact element and the electrical plug contact element.

An electrical plug connector includes a connector housing receiving an electrical terminal. The invention relates to an arrangement for electrical contacting and a plug type connection comprising such an arrangement. The invention further relates to a method for joining an arrangement for electrical contacting to a counter-arrangement. A contact element for a plug type connector is provided a contact body having a pair of guiding faces and a catch opening. The contact body is prepared from electrically conductive contact material. The pair of guiding faces provide a reinforced region with each guiding face having a plurality of layers overlapping each other transversely with respect to a length of contact body. The catch opening is disposed between the pair of guiding faces.

A connector assembly comprises a housing and a secondary locking member for coupling to a complementary connector assembly comprising a housing and a secondary locking member. The housing comprises a central coding cavity that allows insertion therethrough of prismatic coding bars that extend from the secondary locking member. The complementary connector housing similarly comprises a through cavity to allow passage therein of a coding bar of the secondary locking member that is complementary to the coding bar. The secondary locking member can be assembled to the connector housing within a shroud in a preassembled position and then shifted in the direction D to the fully assembled locked position. Similarly, the secondary locking member of the complementary connector can be inserted in the shroud in a preassembled position and then shifted in the direction of arrow D to the fully locked position. When both secondary locking members are fully locked to their respective housings, the connector assemblies can then be mated whereby the coding bars are inserted into the coding cavity of the mating connector housing thereby interleaving with the complementary coding bar. The coding bars thus perform the functions of coding and of preventing coupling of connector assemblies if the secondary locking members are not fully locked. Furthermore, integral moulding of the coding bars to the secondary locking mechanism provides a sturdy and reliable coding system with many possibilities.
