The invention relates to a mist extinguishing system (), comprising a line system () for connecting an extinguishing fluid supply and one or more extinguishing nozzles in a fluid-conducting manner, and a flow generator () for swirling up solids () in the extinguishing fluid and/or for generating an extinguishing fluid flow within a measurement zone () of the line system (), wherein a measuring device () for sensing the solids which are swirled up and/or conveyed through the measurement zone with the extinguishing fluid flow is arranged within the measurement zone ().
