A curing composition for rubber includes: a metallic co-agent selected from the group consisting of zinc diacrylate and zinc methacrylate; organic peroxide; sulfur; and a hydrotalcite compound. The curing composition and a rubber matrix can be used to make an uncured rubber composition. A cured rubber is obtainable by curing the uncured rubber composition.

Described is a hose and a method of manufacturing a hose. The hose comprises: an inner tube for communicating fluid; a reinforcement layer positioned over the inner tube; an intermediate cover positioned over the reinforcement layer, wherein the intermediate cover has a thickness of between 1.3 mm and 3.0 mm and comprises a material having a hardness of between 40 Shore A and 60 Shore A; and an outer cover comprising an abrasion resistant material.

A hose extrusion mandrel for manufacturing rubber hoses includes: a solid thermoplastic, elongate core; and a rubber compound outer layer covering a surface of the elongate core. A ratio between a diameter of the core and a thickness of the rubber compound layer may be between 8 and 11.

A spiral hose includes: a tube with a first wall thickness; a first reinforcement package, arranged around a circumference of the tube, having a first rubber layer embedding at least one set of a first and second layer of wire wound in a helical path around the tube, a winding direction of the first layer being opposite from a winding direction of the second layer, which first reinforcement package has a first package thickness; a second reinforcement package, arranged around a circumference of the first reinforcement package, having a second rubber layer embedding at least a second set of a third and fourth layer of wire wound in a helical path around the first reinforcement package, a winding direction of the third layer being opposite from a winding direction of the fourth layer, which second reinforcement package has a second package thickness; and a cover layer.

Spiral hose

A metal braided hose includes: an inner tube including an elastic material; a first metal wire braided layer enveloping an outer surface of the inner tube; and a second metal wire braided layer enveloping the first metal wire braided layer. A wire thickness of the second metal wire braided layer is smaller than a wire thickness of the first metal wire braided layer.
