A method of tracking repeated performance problems in a machine is disclosed. The method comprises storing the faults in a computer memory, and assigning a classification value to the machine based on the frequency and number of the faults. Based on the classification value of the cash handing device it is determined whether the cash handing device needs to be serviced. The faults can be related to one of the hardware, the cash reject rate, image handling, crash rate, user claim rate, and check handling accuracy of the machine.

Evaluating and servicing problematic cash-handling machines

A method for displaying information printed on a contactless smart card is provided. The method may include using a wireless chip to enable communication with the contactless smart card. The method may further include displaying the information on a plurality of panels. Each of the panels may include an array of organic light emitting diodes ('OLEDs'). Each of the panels may be coupled to at least one other panel. The method may further include coordinating the transfer of the information from the contactless smart card to the wireless chip using a software chip. The software chip may include a non-transitory memory and a processor. The method may yet further include powering, either directly or indirectly, the plurality of panels, the software chip and the contactless smart card, said powering using a battery.

A computer system monitors a financial transaction system that contains a plurality of remote transaction machines, e.g., automated teller machines (ATMs). The computer system detects and analyzes whether any of the automated teller machines has an outage, whereby customers may be experiencing failed financial transactions. When an outage occurs, a severity level is selected by processing outage data. For example, the computer system determines a measure of the number of failed transactions and then selects a severity level of the outage from which the appropriate recovery procedure can then be initiated. When the transaction system comprises a plurality of networks, the severity level of an outage may be determined by aggregating or separately processing outage data for the networks. Outage ATMs may be prioritized from the number of corresponding failed transactions, so that the prioritization can be included in an indicator that initiates resolution of the outage.

Embodiments of the present invention relate to a secure cash deposit bin housed in an automated teller machine (ATM) for receiving cash from customers, and methods and systems for using the secure cash deposit bin. Embodiments of the present invention provide a cash deposit bin, with a lid, in which there is a receptacle that receives cash and automatically seals the cash within it when the secure cash deposit bin is opened. An exemplary system further includes the secure cash deposit bin comprising a limited-entry device in the lid and an access sensor locking device on the bin.
