A liquid crystal composition comprises a compound of general formula I serving as a first component; a compound of general formula II-1 and/or general formula II-2 serving as a second component; a compound of general formula III serving as a third component; a compound of general formula IV serving as a fourth component; a compound of general formula V serving as a fifth component; and a compound of general formula VI serving as a sixth component. The liquid crystal composition has at least one characteristic among the characteristics of a large dielectric anisotropy, a large optical anisotropy, a high voltage holding ratio and a low threshold voltage and the like, and is suitable to be used in a liquid crystal display device. Additionally, a liquid crystal display device comprising the liquid crystal composition is also provided.

The present invention discloses a liquid crystal composition, comprising: at least a first compound selected from the group consisting of a compound of general Formula I-1, a compound of general Formula I-2, and a combination thereof, and at least a second compound selected from the group consisting of a compound of general Formula II-1, a compound of general Formula II-2, a compound of general Formula II-3, a compound of general Formula II-4 and a combination thereof. The liquid crystal composition provided in the present invention has the properties of appropriate optical and dielectric anisotropies, high clearing point, existence of a nematic phase over a wide range of temperature, low viscosity and good high-temperature stability. The liquid crystal composition is applicable to a liquid crystal display (LCD) device, to enable the LCD device to have such properties as short response time, excellent display effect at high temperature, and others.

A liquid crystal composition and a liquid crystal display wherein the liquid crystal composition includes: a compound of general formula (I) including 1%-50% of the total weight of the liquid crystal composition; a compound of general formula (II) including 1%-60% of the total weight of the liquid crystal composition; a compound of general formula (III) including 1%-60% of the total weight of the liquid crystal composition; and a compound of general formula (IV) including 0-50% of the total weight of the liquid crystal composition&#x2014;wherein the liquid crystal composition has a suitably wider nematic phase scope, a suitable optical anisotropy, a favorable low-temperature storage stability a faster response speed, can be used for outdoor work, has a good image display effect, and substantially free of streaking phenomenon.
