The state of the system is defined by an allocation matrix, wherein each first vector of the allocation matrix corresponds to a respective one of the nodes of the telecommunications network, each second vector of the allocation matrix corresponds to a respective one of the plurality of service functions. Moreover, each cell of the allocation matrix contains a value 1 if the one of the plurality of service functions corresponding to the respective second vector is placed on the one of the nodes of the telecommunications network corresponding to the respective first vector, and otherwise contains a value 0.

In one embodiment, a method performed by a UE for UE-assisted data collection for mobility prediction comprises receiving, from a network node of a cellular communications system, a UE trajectory prediction model for predicting a UE trajectory. The method further comprises executing the UE trajectory prediction model to generate a predicted trajectory for the UE, comparing the actual UE trajectory to the predicted UE trajectory, and sending, to a network node of the cellular communications system, a result of the comparison of the actual UE trajectory to the predicted UE trajectory. In this manner, mobility prediction performance is improved.

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for output pacing in a cellular communications system that serves as a virtual Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) node in a TSN network. In some embodiments, a method of operation of a boundary node associated with a cellular communications system that operates as a virtual TSN node in a TSN network comprises receiving user plane traffic from a node in the cellular communications system. The user plane traffic is user plane traffic received by the cellular communications system from a previous hop TSN node. The method further comprises performing output pacing for the user plane traffic when outputting the user plane traffic to a next hop TSN node such that the user plane traffic is output to the next hop TSN node at a rate that matches a desired rate at the next hop TSN node. Corresponding embodiments of a boundary node are also disclosed.

A de-jitter function for holding-and-forwarding packets such that the packets are delivered with an agreed fixed latency. The de-jitter function can be placed at the edge of a virtual 5G TSN switch (e.g. the de-jitter function can be deployed as part of a UPF for uplink (UL) packets and/or it can be deployed as part of a user equipment (UE) for downlink (DL) packets). By using the de-jitter function, the TSN can consider the wireless network as having a consistent, deterministic latency with no jitter.

In some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device for conveying external time domain information is provided. The method includes receiving a message in a first time domain used by the wireless device, the message comprising external time domain information; determining information about a second time domain based on the external time domain information; and conveying information about the second time domain to another node. In some embodiments, timing information is included into a GPRS Tunneling Protocol (GTP) payload, and the wireless device can get timing information directly from the data payload. An access node of the cellular network determines a correlation of an identifier of a user equipment with an entry of a Pending Interest Table maintained by an Information Centric Networking node.
