A method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be a UE. The UE receives, from a base station, one or more BWP configurations for configuring a plurality of BWPs at the UE. The respective one or more BWP parameters of a set of BWP parameters define each respective BWP of the plurality of BWPs. The UE sends a capability indication indicating that the UE is capable of resetting values of one or more parameters of the set of BWP parameters. The UE sends a subset indication indicating that the UE is capable of resetting values of one or more parameters of a subset of BWP parameters from the set of BWP parameters.

Specialized BWP switch

A UE performs a cell activation process in a wireless network. The UE calculates a first automatic gain control (AGC) setting based on downlink signals from a base station. The downlink signals include a coarse beam reference signal, a fine beam reference signal, and a conversion indication that indicates a power conversion between the coarse beam reference signal and the fine beam reference signal. The UE further calculates a second AGC setting based on the first AGC setting and the conversion indication. The UE performs a cell search using one of the first AGC setting and the second AGC setting, and performs fine time-frequency tracking using the other of the first AGC setting and the second AGC setting.

Automatic gain control for serving cell activation based on two different reference signals

Apparatus and methods are provided for RRM measurement in the NR network. In one novel aspect, the RRM measurement is configured with one measurement gap for SS block and CSI-RS. In one embodiment, an extended MGL (eMGL) is configured such that the SS block and CSI-RS is measurement within one measurement gap. In another embodiment, the shorter MGL (sMGL) that is shorter than the standard MGL is configured. In another novel aspect, the CSI-RS is allocated adjacent to the SS blocks such that one measurement gap is configured for both the SS block and CSI-RS measurement. In another novel aspect, the CSI-RS measurement is conditionally configured. In yet another novel aspect, the UE decodes the time index of the SS block conditionally.

Radio resource management (RRM) measurement for new radio (NR) network

A method for expediting Secondary Cell (SCell) or Primary cell of a secondary cell group (PSCell) addition or activation is proposed. A User Equipment (UE) receives a command that indicates adding or activating an SCell or a PSCell, wherein the command comprises information of a temporary Reference Signal (RS). The UE detects the temporary RS according to the information, and uses the temporary RS to add or activate the SCell or the PSCell.

Enhancement to expedite secondary cell (SCell) or primary SCell (PSCell) addition or activation

Aspects of the disclosure provide a method and an apparatus for performing a bandwidth part (BWP) switching process within different switching delays. For example, the apparatus can include receiving circuitry and processing circuitry. The receiving circuitry can receive from a BS a signaling indicating a change to a BWP configuration of the UE. The processing circuitry can perform a BWP configuration switching process based on the change to the BWP configuration to switch an active BWP configuration to a new BWP configuration, and monitor data transmission from the BS with the new BWP configuration either after a first predefined switching delay when the change to the BWP configuration includes at least one of a predefined set of BWP configuration parameters or after a second predefined switching delay when the change to the BWP configuration does not include any one of the predefined set of BWP configuration parameters.

Bandwidth part switching within different switching delays

A method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be a UE. The UE receives, on a primary cell, an activation command from a base station for activating a secondary cell between the UE and the base station. The UE receives scheduling information of a set of aperiodic TRSs. The UE receives a trigger indicating transmission of the set of aperiodic TRSs. The UE initiates a RF chain of the UE configured for the secondary cell in an interruption period. The UE receives, in response to receiving the trigger and in accordance with the scheduling information, the set of aperiodic TRSs on the secondary cell prior to receiving an initial SSB or an initial periodic TRS after the interruption period. The UE performs time and frequency tracking on the secondary cell based on the set of aperiodic TRSs.

Techniques of reducing SCell activation delay

Aspects of the disclosure provide an electronic device including processing circuitry and a method for radio resource management (RRM) measurements. The processing circuitry determines, based on a signal received in a serving cell for the electronic device, a location and mobility of the electronic device. The electronic device is in one of a first state and a second state for RRM measurements. A normal level of RRM measurements is implemented for one or more neighboring cells when the electronic device is in the first state, and a relaxed level of RRM measurements is implemented for the one or more neighboring cells when the electronic device is in the second state. The processing circuitry determines whether the electronic device is to be switched from the one of the first state and the second state to another of the first state and the second state based on the mobility and the location.

Electronic device and method for radio resource management (RRM) measurement relaxation

A UE in a wireless network performs RRM measurements according to power saving schemes. The UE receives Synchronization Signal Blocks (SSBs), which are broadcast periodically from a base station to a cell served by the base station, and receives additional signal blocks transmitted periodically from the base station. The additional signal blocks and the SSBs use different time-and-frequency resources. The UE performs an RRM measurement according to information received within an RRM measurement window including at least one of the additional signal blocks and a corresponding one of the SSBs. Additionally or alternatively, the UE performs RRM measurements on SSBs with a first cycle period equal to a Discontinuous Reception (DRX) cycle period. In response to an indication that a predefined condition for the RRM measurements is satisfied, the UE performs the RRM measurements with a second cycle period which is at least two times of the first cycle period.

Power saving radio resource management (RRM) measurements in a wireless network

A user equipment terminal (UE) operates in a wireless network. The UE receives, from a base station, timing advance parameter values which indicate a time difference measured by the base station between uplink and downlink for a band occupied by one or more serving cells. The UE calculates a length of a post-measurement gap (post-MG) time period for the one or more serving cells based on the timing advance parameter values. The post-MG time period is after a measurement gap before uplink transmission. The UE then sends an indication of the length of the post-MG time period to the base station.

UE feedback of timing adjustment after a measurement gap

A User Equipment (UE) including a wireless transceiver and a controller is provided. The wireless transceiver performs wireless transmission and reception to and from a service network. The controller receives a measurement configuration and a Discontinuous Reception (DRX) configuration from the service network via the wireless transceiver, extends a measurement period indicated by the measurement configuration, and performs a cell measurement via the wireless transceiver in the extended measurement period.
