Support structures and methods for securing at least one element, such as a wire or bundle of wires, in an opening of a panel or other structure. A support assembly may comprise a grommet having an opening to accommodate the at least one element and a bushing configured to clamp around an outer surface of the grommet. The bushing may comprise one or more petals configured to contact a first surface of the structure and one or more snaps configured to contact a second surface of the structure that is opposite to the first surface.

Methods and apparatus for supporting wires in openings

A method and apparatus for securing a bundle of wires to a surface via a clamp assembly is disclosed. The assembly includes a clamp, such as a P-clamp, that may be mounted to a support before installing a bundle of wires. The clamp includes first and second clamp members that cooperate to form an opening through which the wire bundle extends. The first and second clamp members may be engaged with and disengaged from one another without a tool. In some embodiments, the P-clamp includes a snap-in mechanism with a clip and a corresponding housing. In some embodiments, the clamp includes an inner cushion that allows the clamp to accommodate a range of wire bundle diameters.

Clamp assembly

A cable attachment device is formed of a support member and at least one cable adapter. The support member has an elongated support post having inner column with at least two opposing notches formed along a length thereof. The at least one cable adapter has an inner surface and an outer surface and is configured to be inserted onto the support member. The cable adapter also has at least one tab and at least two opposing resilient prongs extending inwardly from the inner surface of the cable adapter, and at least one handle extending outwardly from the outer surface of the cable adapter configured to secure at least one wire or cable thereto. The at least two opposing resilient prongs are configured to engage the at least two opposing notches on the inner column of the support member to secure the cable adapter thereto.

Cable support and attachment device

A securing device for mechanical components that is comprised of the securing device is designed as a longitudinal plastic strip comprised of a first complementary tab and a second complementary tab. The first complementary tab and the second complementary tab interlock together and rest flush against one another in a manner that lines up the hole of the first complementary tab with the hole of the second complementary tab. The securing device may be surrounded by a cushion to improve the securing functionality of the device.
