Disclosed are copper-binding compounds with improved properties and methods of using such compounds in the prevention and treatment of angiogenic diseases, such as cancer. Advantages of the invention include the enhanced stability of the compounds, which is achieved without reduction in efficacy. Pharmaceutical compositions, therapeutic kits and combination treatment methods and uses are also provided.

Tetrapropylammonium tetrathiomolybdate and related compounds for anti-angiogenic therapies

Provided are agents that can bind to copper, and form a tripartite complex with protein, and the use of these agents in the prevention and treatment of diseases with a vascular component, such as solid tumors. Compositions and methods for combination therapy of these diseases, including cancer, as well as therapeutic kits, are also provided.

The present invention relates generally to carriers for transport of amino acid, amino acid derivatives and other biologically important molecules such as catecholamines and neurotransmitters. In particular, the present invention relates to ditopic receptor molecules that contain salicylaldimine and crown-ether subunits, and complexed to metal ions. The compounds of the present invention were shown to have efficient transport properties for zwitterions.
