A demolition hammer includes a housing defining an interior cavity, a power cell having a front head, and a wear plate. The power cell is disposed within the interior cavity of the housing. The wear plate is interposed between the housing and the front head of the power cell. The wear plate includes a body defining a central longitudinal axis. The body has a face that includes a bottom end, a top end in spaced relationship to the bottom end along the central longitudinal axis, and a pair of lateral edges in spaced relationship to each other along a transverse axis that is perpendicular to the central longitudinal axis. The face includes an interface surface that defines at least one channel extending along the central longitudinal axis and that is in proximate relationship with the front head of the power cell.

A hydraulic hammer includes a power cell. A work tool is partially received in, and movable with respect to, the power cell. A sleeve is positioned in the power cell that defines a centerline. A piston is concentrically positioned in the sleeve and movable in the sleeve between a first position in contact with the work tool and a second position out of contact with the work tool. A magnetic guide system includes at least one of a first magnetic guide component disposed in the piston and at least one of a second magnetic guide component disposed in the sleeve that interact to produce magnetic repellent forces therebetween to urge the radial position of the piston towards the center line.

A diagnostic system for measuring acceleration of a piston of a reciprocating hammer is disclosed. The diagnostic system may include a magnet configured to induce, via electromagnetic induction and based on a movement of the piston, an electric current in a conductor. The diagnostic system may include a capacitor electrically coupled to the conductor and configured to store electric power based on the electric current induced by the magnet. The diagnostic system may include an accelerometer configured to measure an acceleration of the piston. The diagnostic system may include a communication device powered by the capacitor and configured to output a signal that identifies the acceleration measured by the accelerometer.

A powered hammer includes a housing having a proximal end and a distal end. The distal end includes an opening for a tool to pass through. The powered hammer further includes a shroud member coupled to the housing and configured to surround an outer surface of the distal end of the housing. The shroud member includes an opening on a lower surface thereof. The opening is configured to allow the tool to pass through. The shroud member is made from a ceramic material with a layer of fiber glass disposed adjacent to the outer surface of the distal end of the housing. The shroud member is configured to reduce heat transfer to the housing from an ambient environment proximate the distal end of the housing.

A plug assembly configured for installation in a hammer assembly, the plug assembly comprising a cylindrical plug and an anti-rotation component. The cylindrical plug may include a plug head and a plug body. The cylindrical plug may include a receiving feature located in the plug head. The anti-rotation component may include a first locking feature and a second locking feature. The first locking feature may be configured to fixably engage with the receiving feature. The second locking feature may be configured to engage with the hammer assembly.
