A yarn texturing machine for texturing a plurality of thermoplastic yarns, each in a processing station. The yarns are guided and advanced in each processing station by a plurality of feed systems. One of the feed systems comprises a driven feed roll which is partially looped by the advancing yarn, and a guide member mounted for movement relative to the feed roll for movement between a threading position wherein the yarn is separated from the feed roll and an operating position wherein the yarn engages the feed roll.

Yarn texturing machine

A yarn texturing machine for texturing a plurality of thermoplastic yarns, each in a processing station. The yarns are guided and advanced in each processing station by a plurality of feed systems. One of the feed systems is mounted on a movable slide, and the slide is guided by means of a slide element along a guide rail and moved by means of a linear drive between a servicing position and an operating position. For a transfer of force, the slide element connects to a drive via a cable line extending along the guide rail.

The invention relates to a false twist texturing machine and to a method of texturing synthetic yarns in, in each case, one processing point, in which a twist-stopping device, a heating device, a cooling device and a false twisting unit are disposed inside a false twisting zone. The yarn is withdrawn from the false twisting zone by means of a delivery mechanism. According to the invention, the twist-stopping device takes the form of a rotatable transport roller, around which the yarn is at least partially wrapped in a peripheral direction and which is drivable by a drive in such a way that the yarn is braked or delivered, so that the yarn tensile force is adjustable inside the false twisting zone.

False twist texturizing machine

A yarn false twist texturing machine having a vertically adjustable device for threading and guiding the advancing yarn at a location between the heater and the cooling plate of the machine. The threading and guiding device comprises a tubular casing having a rodless magnetic piston mounted for sliding movement therein, and a magnetic sliding element and a yarn guide mounted for sliding movement on the outside of the tubular casing. The polarity of the magnetic sliding element is opposite that of the rodless magnetic piston so that the magnetic sliding element follows the movement of the magnetic piston, and the magnetic piston is moved by compressed air delivered into either one or both ends of the tubular casing.

Yarn threading and guiding device for false twist texturing machine

An apparatus for imparting a braking force to an advancing strand is disclosed, and which includes a mechanical compensating arm brake followed in series by a movement dependent brake. The movement dependent brake may take any one of several forms, including an eddy-current brake which is directly connected to a roll which is driven by the strand, a hysteresis brake which is directly connected to a roll which is driven by the strand, or a brake of any type which is connected to a roll which is driven by the strand via a clutch, such as a centrifugal clutch, which is operated as a function of the speed of the movement of the strand.

Strand braking apparatus

A stranding process for producing a cable made up of multiple groups of plied filaments being fed from linear feed positions located along a common twisting axis, said process including steps wherein at least one of the groups is plied and twisted according to the double-twist principle and all of the groups are then plied and twisted together by the cable-twist principle in a common twisting zone. A specific combination of apparatus is provided to carry out the required plying and stranding steps in a single operation.

A high-speed twisting machine for stranding wires or the like wherein there are a plurality of rotor units or assemblies, one on each side of a cradled take-off spool, each rotor unit consisting essentially of a rotatably driven hollow bearing tube with inlet and outlet openings for the transported wires in combination with open-ended concave guide pots attached at their base to the opposing faces or ends of the bearing tubes on either side of a cradled take-off spool, the outer peripheral guide surface of each pot being symmetrical around the machine axis to define a curved surface corresponding closely to the path of the transported wires taken off during normal twisting operation. The wire openings or bores near the end of the bearing tube must be located outside the curved guide surface of the guide pot connected to the same tube end to provide easy access and visibility. A retaining ring is preferably mounted at the rim concentrically around the open end of each guide pot to control a so-called ballooning effect. The twisting machine is useful for a wide variety of twisting or stranding operations requiring rapid transport of a plurality of wires or the like.

A two-for-one twisting process for twisting two or more individual strands being taken off from separate feed spools or packages arranged in sequence along a common twisting axis at spaced intervals, the strands being doubled or plied together along the twisting axis in a forward take-off direction, wherein the completely plied strands passing the final feed package are deflected and returned backwardly in a rotating balloon pattern by means of at least one rotating twisting disc such that a single balloon envelops each feed package with the plied strands crossing and finally meeting the twisting axis behind each package. The process is useful for plying and twisting all types of filamentary or stranded materials.

Two-for-one twisting process

A high-speed wire twisting machine with feed spools in cradle-type carriers rockingly mounted between paired rotors which have hollow axial passages and are aligned at spaced intervals on the twisting axis, each spool carrier being provided with deflection means to guide the wires, as they are initially drawn off and plied through the axis of the rotors in a forward direction, around each cradled feed spool, and the last rotor at the front end of the machine being provided with a guide over which the plied wires are drawn off and deflected outwardly to be returned to a rear outlet end of the machine, especially with a two-for-one twisting with the plied wires forming individual balloons between each pair of rotors. Twist stop means are preferably mounted in the front carrier which contains a feed spool or for special purposes a wire treatment means in place of the feed spool.
