An arrangement for generating a firing or triggering signal for a projectile which is conveyed in a flying body overflying a target, wherein a target identifying circuit requires a processing period for the identification of a detected target pursuant to predetermined characteristics, and in which, subsequent to a waiting period dependent upon the flying altitude, there occurs a delay or lag period between the initiation of the firing signal and the ejection or, respectively, target impact of the projectile. For the target determination, an optical sensor arrangement is directed at a first acute angle relative to the flight trajectory of the flying body; wth this angle being so calculated that at a minimum flying altitude of the flying altitude of the flying body, the flying time from the target determination up to the overflight of a certical above the target is at least equal to the sum of the processing period and the delay or lag period, and in which the sensor arrangement is set a second acute angle which is larger than the first angle after the identification of a selected target, and which takes into consideration the delay period and the flying altitude.

An optical remote control arrangement for a projectile, having provided for the guidance of the projectile from a firing base to a target, a sighting arrangement adapted for the sighting of the target along a sighting line. At least one light source is located at the firing base which emits a lamellar-shaped or finned light beam which upon traversing through at least one deflecting device periodically passes over a region containing the sighting line, wherein the light beam is directionally-dependently modulatable and detectable by at least one detector acting upon a demodulator and arranged on the projectile, by means of which control signals are generatable which act on the control devices of the projectile so as to exert an influence over the trajectory of the projectile. The optical remote control arrangement for a projectile has the light source (Laser) connected ahead of a modulator (MOD) sequentially generating pulse sequences of different pulse frequencies within a control period, and which controls the deflection device (ABL) as well as exciting the light source (Laser) for the emission of pusle frequency-modulated beams, through the detector (DT) of the demodulator (DEM) arranged in a projectile (G), consisting of a frequency measuring arrangement (FM), a programmable storage circuit (PROM) connected through the output thereof, and having connected therewith a decoder (DEC) which is associated with the control arrangement (STV).

Optical remote control arrangement for a projectile

An optoelectronic proximity sensor having an emitter which directs optical pulses towards a surface as well as a receiver which is oriented toward the point at which the emitted optical pulses impinge on the surface so as to receive a portion of the optical pulses which are scattered back from the surface. The emitter is connected to a pulse generator which causes the emitter to emit the optical pulses at a given pulse repetition frequency. The pulses received by the receiver are evaluated, this being done by a highpass filter which is connected to the receiver and which itself has a limit frequency that is at least approximately equal to the pulse repetition frequency of the pulse generator. A memory circuit is connected to the output of the highpass filter for storing a series of pulses received by the receiver, the arrangement of the parts being such that the memory circuit is rendered capable of receiving the pulses at the beat of the pulse repetition frequency. A control circuit is connected to the output of the memory circuit and puts out an actuation signal when the memory circuit has received a predetermined number of pulses. In practice, the distance sensor is suitable for use with the detonator of a projectile.

Optoelectronic proximity sensor

Generator for generating electrical ignition or detonation energy in a spin projectile through a piezo element utilizing the spin of the projectile for generating the electrical energy. The piezo element lies against the interior of the projectile shell and is polarized radially relative to the longitudinal axis of the projectile. Preferably, the piezo element is of tubular configuration. A core is radially movably supported interiorly of the projectile shell so as to charge the piezo element during the rotational acceleration of the projectile.

Generator for a spin-projectile

A generator for generating electrical ignition energy through a piezo element in a spin projectile. A guide band on the projectile deforms upon entry into the riflings of a weapon barrel. To generate the ignition energy due to the deformation of the guide band, the piezo element is a tubular member polarized radially relative to the longitudinal axis of the projectile. The outer circumference of the piezo element lies against the projectile shell. The piezo element is stiffened along its inner circumference by a stiffener ring positioned thereagainst.

An opto-electronic measuring apparatus, in particular for a projectile detonator, for the delivery of a signal upon the reaching of a predetermined distance between a moving body and a surface, whereby the measuring apparatus incorporates a transmitter emitting impulses which are rendered optical through a lens at a transmission frequency; and a receiver with a receiver-amplifier for receiving the portion of these optical impulses which are scattered back from the surface.

Opto-electronic measuring apparatus, particularly for a projectile

A circuit for controlling the electric fuse of a projectile which is fired from a weapon barrel having a control coil at the muzzle. A receiving coil in the projectile is energized in conformity with the degree of energization of the control coil and causes an ignition capacitor to develop an ignition voltage in conformity with the degree of energization of the receiving coil. The instant at which the ignition capacitor develops an ignition voltage thereon and causes detonation of the projectile is thus dependant upon the amount of current supplied to the control coil on the muzzle of the weapon barrel.

Arrangement for variably arming a projectile as it emerges from a weapon

A safety device for an electrically operable projectile fuse in which a primer pin in the form of a firing pin is axially displaceable in the projectile while a detonator cap near one end of the primer pin is adapted to be ignited by impact of the primer pin thereon. A spring biases the primer pin away from the detonator cap while a propelling charge near the other end of the primer pin is electrically ignitable to drive the primer pin into impact with the detonator cap. The primer pin is latched in the projectile with the spring compressed and rotation of the projectile in flight will release the latch. When the primer pin is released it bridges a pair of contacts and completes a circuit from a piezo electric crystal through the propelling charge whereby the projectile will detonate upon impact by igniting the propelling charge and driving the primer pin into impact with the detonator cap. The detonator cap moves into registration with the primer pin in response to rotation of the projectile in flight.
