A device for storing a missile 8 includes at least one adjustable and spring-loaded support point 11, 31 and at least two fixed support points 12 and 32 each are present in a launcher tube in the front and in the rear. The front support points 11, 12 act on support pins 10 arranged on the jacket of the missile 8, and the rear support points 12, 32 act on sliding ribs 35 arranged on supports 33 for wings 34 that can be folded out, wherein all support points are supported on frames 3 and 4 of a launching container 1.

A flying body, such as a missile, is strapped to a carrier vehicle, such as an aircraft, by a strapping or locking mechanism mounted in a housing which also includes components for suspending and launching the flying body from launching rails forming part of the housing connected to the carrier aircraft. The strapping is accomplished with two strapping bridges which are pressed down onto the respective suspension block elements resting on the launching rail. The pressing down force is applied by a toggle lever arrangement, one of which is provided for each strapping bridge. The toggle lever arrangement cooperates with a respective spring arrangement which keeps the corresponding toggle levers in a strapping position until the spring arrangement is released through release pawls operated with a reverse magnet. A retaining mechanism which is effective between the release of the strapping mechanism and the actual launching after ignition of the propulsion system of the flying body, is made ready for launching. In this state of readiness the retaining mechanism holds the flying body in place until its propulsion thrust is large enough to overcome the retaining force.

An ejector for the transport container of a missile is used in a missile launcher. The missiles are launched from the container which is then ejected by an ejector mechanism from the launcher proper. The ejector comprises a pair of axially spaced pivoted levers and first spring means for imparting an ejecting movement to said levers and second spring means for returning the levers to a ready position to receive another missile in its container.

In an acceleration switch, such as used for actuating an impact detonator in a projectile, a ball is held between a support surface and a lever member which forms a part of a toggle lever assembly. On impact, the ball causes the lever to pivot and displace another lever member to which it is pivotally connected. When displaced, the toggle lever assembly passes through a dead center position and a portion of its another lever is moved out of the path of a light source and light detector for closing the ignition circuit of the impact detonator. A releasable safety device is provided to prevent premature movement of the lever assembly which would close the ignition circuit.
