A bumper arrangement for vehicles is disclosed, particularly for passenger vehicles and the like. The bumper arrangement includes a dimensionally stable support and an elastic covering forming the end area of the vehicle body. The covering extends at a distance from the support and is fastened locally at the body, a recess being provided at the covering for receiving a license plate. So that the tool costs for the covering are reduced while taking into account specific requirements of different countries and to also ensure that the covering exhibits a good performance, can be mounted easily and is also repair-friendly, the elastic covering comprises several parts that are joined together in transverse direction of the vehicle.

Bumper for vehicles

An automotive vehicle, especially a passenger car, comprises a bumper, at least two radiators and an air duct system for guiding the cooling air stream over the radiators. To provide a cooling air guidance system which is simple in construction, which functions satisfactorily, and which can be integrated into the vehicle with few problems, each radiator is provided with a separate air duct. The inlet ports and/or the air guide means are arranged in an elastic cover of the bumper which forms the end portion of the vehicle. At least one inlet port and one air duct extend, in part through a rigid support of the bumper. The inlet port is located in a zone of maximum dynamic pressure, namely underneath a nose-like projection of the cover.

Cooling arrangement for an automotive vehicle, especially a passenger car

A bumper formed by a rigid support of U-shaped cross section and a resilient guard covering it, with the guard having approximately horizontally aligned guide bars which rest against parallel legs of the rigid support and interact in a reinforcing manner with holding fixtures of the rigid support. For purposes of safe assembly and avoidance of overstressing the guard, additional horizontally-running cross bars are located at a vertical distance from the guide bars and include portions that protrude beyond the support. The protruding portions of the cross bars are connected to each other by means of a fastening link.

Resilient vehicle bumper indirectly secured to a rigid support

A bumper for vehicles, in particular automobiles, having a beam and dampers secured to the beam by means of retention devices in a manner so as to eliminate the use of auxiliary attachment devices, such as washers, cotter pins, etc., in order to prevent dislodgment of a bolt securing each retention device to the beam. In accordance with the preferred embodiments, each retention device and damper is provided with a bore. Within this bore a bolt is inserted that extends from an upper portion of the retention device, through the damper into a lower portion of the retention device. The bolt is retained in this bore either exclusively by bumper flanges overlying the opposite ends of the bore, or by the use of only one such flange and a blind bore having a check wall in the lower portion of the retention device.

Bumper for vehicles, particularly motor vehicles

An automobile bumper having a support that is rigid in its configuration and a covering of elastic material is fixed to the car body via a flangelike portion by fastening means but can be bolted. Visible depressions, indentations or the like in the covering are avoided in a preferred embodiment by a strip having a widened portion that penetrates into the flangelike covering and which has sleeves which extend through the covering so as to bear upon the vehicle body in the region of the fastening members.
