A guide assembly for a disc brake and method of mounting. The guide assembly may have a guide pin that includes a mounting portion and a guiding portion. A retaining bore of a brake carrier may receive the guide pin and retain the mounting portion. The guiding portion may protrude from an inboard-side of the brake carrier and may slidably support a brake caliper.

Guide assembly for a disc brake

A guide assembly for a disc brake and a method of arrangement. The guide assembly includes a guide pin and a sliding bore that receives the guide pin. A first face mating interface of the sliding bore may define a first sliding interface between the guide pin and the bore.

A brake pad, a disc brake, and a method of fitting a brake pad. At least one of a first brake pad and a second brake pad and corresponding support structures may have complementary profiles on circumferential faces thereof arranged so as to permit the brake pad to be inserted into a corresponding support structure in a transverse direction of the brake pad and at an angle to a circumferential direction of the support structure.

A disc brake having at least one brake pad, a brake caliper, an actuation mechanism, and a brake pad support structure. The brake pad has a moveable pad retainer formation to permit assembly and retention of the brake pad in the brake pad support structure such that the brake pad is held for operation of the disc brake.

A brake pad for a heavy vehicle disc brake and a disc brake. The brake pad defines a first and second circumferential surfaces. A first spring forms at least part of the first circumferential surface and is arranged to contact the first circumferential pad abutment surface and urge the brake pad, in use, towards the second circumferential pad abutment surface.

Brake pad

An adjuster assembly for manually adjusting the position of a brake pad relative to a brake rotor of a disc brake, the assembly comprising: a continuous wear sensor; and a manual rewind apparatus to manually reset the position of the brake pad when replacement thereof is required; the manual rewind apparatus comprising a shaft arranged to extend into a housing of the disc brake; wherein the continuous wear sensor is arranged to be located within the housing of the disc brake and is located proximate to the shaft.

Adjuster assembly

A fixing for mounting a brake carrier of a disc brake to a mount for a disc brake and a method of assembly. The mount may be an axle mount for mounting the brake carrier on an axle of a vehicle. The fixing may include a connector for coupling the brake carrier and the mount. The connector may deform a second fixing region of the mount or brake carrier and thereby form an interference connection that restricts relative translational movement, as the brake carrier and mount are mounted together.

Fixing for a brake carrier and a mount for a disc brake and method thereof

A module including a module housing enclosing an electric motor, an output element mounted externally of the module housing, the output element being operably coupled to the electric motor and the module housing including an electrical interface for electrically coupling the motor to one or more components mounted externally of the module housing.

Module

A rotational fixing for a guide pin of a disc brake and method for fixing a guide pin of a disc brake. The rotational fixing includes a guide sleeve having a sleeve portion, a receiving portion of a brake carrier, and an inter-connection. The receiving portion receives the sleeve portion. The inter-connection engages the sleeve portion and the receiving portion and restricts rotation of the guide sleeve relative to the brake carrier when the sleeve portion is received by the receiving portion.

Rotational fixing for a guide pin of a disc brake and method thereof

A disc brake having a caliper, a housing bore, a guide insert, and a piston. The housing bore extends inboard from an outboard face of a housing portion of the caliper. The guide insert may have an inner guide bore and may be mounted within the housing bore. The piston may be slideable within the inner guide bore relative to the guide insert so as to urge a brake pad towards a rotor.

A brake carrier for an air-actuated disc brake. The brake carrier may have first and second carrier portions that may include a mounting arrangement and a recess. The recess may define a circumferential abutment surface for restraining motion of a brake pad in a circumferential direction and a radial abutment surface for restraining motion of the brake pad in a radially inward direction.

A disc brake and a brake pad assembly. The brake pad assembly may have a brake pad and a retainer clip. The brake pad may have a volume of friction material that may include a friction face, a support face, first and second circumferential end faces. The retainer clip may be arranged to engage a bearing surface of the brake pad.

An optimized disc brake includes two fixed mountings and one free mounting, and an assembly space optimized brake carrier and corresponding brake lining for a reaction side of the disc brake are provided.

Disc brake with optimized caliper mounting and brake lining

A pneumatically or electromotively operable disc brake, including a brake caliper that straddles a brake disc, at least one brake application device for tensioning the brake disc by way of a displaceably guided element, particularly a cross member. The displaceably guided element has at least one threaded borehole into which an adjusting spindle is screwed. This adjusting spindle supports a pressing piece by which a brake pad can be pressed against the brake disc. A wear adjusting device is provided for resetting the clearance and is actively connected to the adjusting spindle. A securing element acts upon the adjusting spindle, thus preventing turning up to a specified torque. The securing element is provided in the form of a spring clip with at least one or more spring saddles, which are distributed over the periphery and which rest in a frictional contact against the adjusting spindle outside the internal thread of the displaceably guided element.
