An electric bicycle includes a front wheel, a rear wheel, an electric traction motor which drives the front and/or rear wheel, a traction battery which supplies the electric traction motor with electrical power, a controller for actuating the electric traction motor, a pushing-aid controller for controlling an adaptive pushing-aid function which is assisted by the electric traction motor depending on an interaction force between a person pushing and the electric bicycle, an inclination sensor for determining an inclination angle of the electric bicycle relative to the ground, a traction-motor torque determining device for determining a current traction-motor torque, an electric-bicycle speed sensor for determining a current electric-bicycle speed, and an electric-bicycle weight memory which stores a current electric-bicycle weight value. The interaction force is determined by the pushing-aid controller from the inclination angle, the current traction-motor torque, the current electric-bicycle speed, and the current electric-bicycle weight value.

Electric bicycle

A pedelec bottom bracket drive unit includes a rigid drive housing and a tolerance compensation sheet-metal spring which is arranged to stand substantially in a vertical plane. The tolerance compensation sheet-metal spring includes at least one fixing point at a housing side and at least one mounting point for fastening the tolerance-compensating sheet-metal spring to a pedelec-frame-side drive mount. The at least one fixing point has a fixing point traverse axis. The tolerance compensation sheet-metal spring is fixed to the rigid drive housing at the at least one fixing point at the housing side. The at least one mounting point has a mounting point traverse axis. The at least one mounting point is arranged offset with respect to a next adjacent fixing point of the at least one fixing point as viewed from the fixing point traverse axis and from the mounting point traverse axis.

Pedelec bottom-bracket drive unit

An electric pedelec bottom bracket drive includes a drive unit, a drive controller, and an ambient temperature detector. The drive unit includes a drive unit housing, a drive motor arranged therein, and a housing temperature sensor which measures a housing temperature. The drive controller supplies electrical drive energy to the drive motor and includes a housing temperature control module which is connected to the housing temperature sensor and which controls an electrical drive energy to not exceed a housing limit temperature. The ambient temperature detector is arranged to detect an air temperature outside of the drive unit housing and is connected to the housing temperature control module. The housing temperature control module limits a maximum electrical drive energy as a function of the air temperature when the housing temperature measured by the housing temperature sensor is above a control intervention limit temperature which is below the housing limit temperature.

Electric pedelec bottom bracket drive

A pedelec includes a drive unit with a drive motor, a battery which supplies the drive motor with power, a control unit having a motor control unit and an assist function determiner, and an operating unit informationally connected to the control unit. The motor control unit controls the power based on a reference variable and an assist function. The assist function determiner defines the power based on the reference variable and selects the assist function. The assist function determiner comprises a standard assist function memory storing a standard assist function, and a standard zone memory storing an upper and lower zone boundary of a zone criteria for applying the standard assist function. An assist function selected by the assist function determiner provides more power below the lower zone boundary and less power above the upper zone boundary. The operating unit adjusts the upper and/or lower zone boundary.

Pedelec

A drive device for an electric bicycle includes a drive housing rigidly connected to a frame of the electric bicycle and a bottom bracket shaft arranged to rotate in the drive housing. First and second pedal cranks are arranged at respective ends of the bottom bracket shaft. The first and second pedal cranks are arranged to rotate with the bottom bracket shaft. A summing hollow shaft is rotatably supported in the drive housing. The summing hollow shaft is directly connected to the bottom bracket shaft via a cyclist's freewheel and, via a motor freewheel, to a gear driven by an electric motor. The summing hollow shaft is connected to a chain wheel for rotation therewith. A sensor assembly fixedly arranged in the drive housing includes a first torque sensor which cooperates with the bottom bracket shaft, and a second torque sensor which cooperates with the summing hollow shaft.
