An antenna apparatus is proposed, which can be operated outside in the vicinity around the antenna apparatus despite a shielding effect of an electrically conducting frame or electrically conducting housing. In the process, the electrically conducting frame or electrically conducting housing encloses a housing volume inside the housing, within said volume an electrically conducting connection being produced from a first to a second location of the electrically conducting frame or the electrically conducting housing. The first and the second locations are selected such that a radio resonance chamber is separated by a parallel radio resonance at a working frequency of the electronic device inside the enclosed housing volume by means of the electrically conducting connection.

An antenna device for radio telephone based on a printed circuit board antenna or a strip conductor antenna and simple to produce and has a high efficiency, but nevertheless ensures that the user of the radio telephone is less exposed to the effects of electromagnetic radiation and the parasitic interference of the telephone caused by the user is reduced. To this end, the strip conductor carrier is cut around strip conductors used as the antenna up to a section used for the connection of the strip conductor used as the antenna to the other strip conductors of the strip conductor carrier. Furthermore, at least when the strip conductor carrier is mounted in the radio telephone, the cut-out regions of the strip conductor carrier, carrying the strip conductor used as the antenna is deflected out of the plane of the other regions of the strip conductor carrier.

A programmable mobile phone terminal includes a transmitter stage, a receiver stage, a switch-over and adapter stage having an arrangement of passive structural elements connected to a plurality of microswitches or microrelays programmed by a predetermined configuration in at least one functional parameter, and a control unit associated with the transmitter stage and the receiver stage, for setting predetermined values of the functional parameter.

In order to compensate changes in the resonant frequency of the resonator occurring owing to fluctuations in the distance between the reference distance (d ) and an actual distance (d &plusmn;&Dgr;d ) in an RF strip line resonator with a strip line ( ) which is arranged at a desired distance (d ) from a metallic conductor ( ), the strip line ( ) is curved. This curvature induces eddy currents in the conductor ( ). The eddy currents bring about a reduction in the inductance of the RF strip line resonator. The smaller/larger the distance between the strip line and the metallic conductor becomes, the smaller/larger this inductance becomes. Since shortening/lengthening the distance between the two conductors is however also accompanied by an increase/reduction in the capacitance of the RF strip line resonator, with the correct dimensioning of the curved strip line the two aforesaid effects cancel one another out and the frequency of the RF strip line resonator is approximately stable with respect to the given fluctuations in distance.

The radio area to be covered by the stationary radio transmission/reception device, for example of the base station of a cordless telephone, is illuminated by two or more directional antennas (,) respectively covering a radio sub-area thereof, whereby that respective directional antenna in whose radio sub-area the mobile radio transmission/reception means, i.e., for example, the mobile part of the cordless telephone, is located is activated (antenna diversity). The method and apparatus can be advantageously utilized in cordless telephones.
