An air duct system for passing an air flow emanating from an air outlet to a measurement device for detecting parameter measurement values for at least one parameter of the air flow, includes at least one collecting unit for collecting the air flow emanating from the air outlet. That one collecting unit can be disposed on the air outlet so that a contact surface of the collecting unit encloses at least one outlet opening of the air outlet circumferentially. The collecting unit includes a wall defining a continuous air duct with an inlet end section and an outlet end section. In order to improve the measurement of the parameter of the air flow, the air duct system includes at least one measurement chamber that is communicatively connected to a section of the air duct enclosed by the inlet end section, which, as a measurement chamber that is otherwise closed relative to the surroundings, either contains at least one pressure sensor or comprises at least one connection for communicatively connecting the measurement chamber to a pressure measurement device.

A vehicle air-conditioning system and a method for operating that vehicle air-conditioning system in dependence on the difference between the temperature of the engine coolant at the inlet into the heating heat exchanger and the temperature of the air at the outlet out of the heating heat exchanger are provided. The measured or estimated temperatures of the coolant at the inlet into the heating heat exchanger and of the air at the outlet out of the heating heat exchanger are checked to determine whether their values indicate fault states of components of the air-conditioning system.

The invention relates to a method for operating an air conditioning system for a vehicle including the steps of: calculating a water collection quantity in an evaporator during the operating period of a cooling mode of the air conditioning system, calculating a quantity of drainage water from the evaporator, determining a quantity of water present in the evaporator at a certain point in time, and comparing the determined quantity of water in the evaporator with a predetermined limit value at the point in time of starting the vehicle or at the point in time of starting the ventilation mode of the air conditioning system. The cooling mode of the air conditioning system is activated if the limit value is exceeded and otherwise the ventilation mode of the air conditioning system is activated.

Vehicle air conditioning system and method for operating such a system

A method for operating a climate-control system of a vehicle using an initial ambient (outside the vehicle) air temperature calculated based upon a current air temperature measured by a temperature sensor located on a side-mirror of the vehicle. A previous air temperature is stored at or before an engine shut-down time. At a subsequent engine start time: a) the temperature sensor on the side-mirror determines the current air temperature; b) a solar radiation on the vehicle is measured; and c) a duration since the previous air temperature was stored is determined. If, at the engine re-start time; a) the duration exceeds a threshold value; and b) the current air temperature is higher than the previous air temperature, then the initial air temperature is calculated from: a) the current air temperature, b) the previous air temperature, and c) the solar radiation. The climate-control system is operated using the calculated initial temp.

A method for climate control for an interior of a motor vehicle includes acquiring climatically relevant data of the interior and/or surroundings of the vehicle, creating a thermodynamic model of a vehicle climate system, the model including at least one of a first thermal capacity of the interior and a first heat loss of the interior, introducing into the interior a quantity of air having a temperature different from an existing interior temperature, calculating at least one of a second thermal capacity of the interior and a second heat loss of the interior existing after the air quantity is introduced into the interior, and adapting the thermodynamic model to include at least one the second thermal capacity and the second heat loss.

Various systems and methods are provided for supplying heat to a passenger compartment during a filter regeneration event. In one example, a first phase of a filter regeneration event is initiated for a filter in an internal combustion engine based on one or more parameters, with heat produced by the engine then supplied to a heater core during the first phase, and the first phase extended if heating is requested for a duration based on ambient temperature. Method and device for interior heating in a motor vehicle

A refrigerant line for carrying a mixture of refrigerant and lubrication oil. The line includes an inner casing made of a material impermeable to the refrigerant/oil mixture, an outer casing made of a material that is highly permeable to the refrigerant in its gaseous state, and an intermediate layer between the inner and outer casings made of a material that is high permeable to the gaseous refrigerant but that is able to retain the admixed oil. In this way, any oil contained in a refrigerant/oil mixture leaking through the inner casing is retained by the intermediate layer, while the refrigerant gas is allowed to escape through the outer two layers. The intermediate layer may retain the oil by absorption, by adsorption, or by binding of the oil.

An air conditioning method is provided. The method comprises when a refrigerant circuit is in operation and a temperature of an evaporator of the refrigerant circuit is lower than a temperature of a heat exchanger of a heating circuit, transferring heat from the heat exchanger to air passing through the heat exchanger, and when the refrigerant circuit is not in operation and the temperature of the evaporator is higher than the temperature of the heat exchanger, transferring heat from the air passing through the heat exchanger to the heat exchanger. In this way, the heat exchanger functions to augment the cooling capabilities of the evaporator.
