In order to use moved masses which are as small as possible in a machine tool, in particular for the rotary machining of workpieces, comprising a machine frame, a tool carrier, a workpiece carrier, it is proposed to provide a parallel kinematic arrangement, which has three parallelogram guides connected in an articulated manner at one end to a receiving means for one of the carriers and at the other end to a slide and an N/C-controlled linear drive for each slide and by which the carrier arranged on the receiving means is movable relative to the machine frame in a three-dimensional movement space.

Machine tool

In order to so improve a lathe comprising a machine frame, a first workpiece spindle with a vertical first spindle axis and a first workpiece holder, a first carriage system for moving the first workpiece spindle, a second workpiece spindle with a vertical second spindle axis, and a second workpiece holder facing the first workpiece holder, a second carriage system for moving the second workpiece spindle, the first workpiece spindle and the second workpiece spindle being adapted to be brought into a transfer position, that the machine frame can be manufactured in as simple and cost-efficient a manner as possible, it is proposed that the machine frame comprise a first machine bed and a second machine bed constituting an assembly separate from the first machine bed, and that the first carriage system be guided solely on the first machine bed, and the second carriage system be guided solely on the second machine bed.

Lathe

In order to improve a spindle drive for machine tools, comprising a housing, a spindle mounted in the housing, a drive motor arranged on the housing and a gear arranged in the housing and comprising an intermediate shaft driven by the drive motor and mounted in the housing via two shaft bearings spaced from one another as well as a first gear wheel seated on the intermediate shaft, wherein for driving the spindle as C-axis the first gear wheel engages in a first position with a second gear wheel driving the spindle so as to mesh with the second gear wheel without clearance, such that it is more simple in construction it is suggested that the first shaft bearing fix the intermediate shaft immovably on the housing in a direction transverse to its axis and that the intermediate shaft be adapted to be moved back and forth by the second shaft bearing relative to the second gear wheel in an adjusting direction between the first position and a second position, the gear wheels meshing with one another in the second position with clearance.

Clearance-free spindle drive

Tool turret for NC automatic lathes comprising a turret body, in which a plurality of tool drive shafts arranged about a turret indexing axis are rotatably mounted, and comprising a main drive shaft coaxial to the turret indexing axis and in drive connection with the tool drive shafts via a miter gear arrangeed in the turret body, as well as a change-over gear for driving the tool drive shafts at different rotational speeds. In order to provide a space-saving and simple construction, the change-over gear is arranged in the turret body between the main drive shaft and the tool drive shaft and is designed as a gear adapted to be changed over only when at a standstill and having no idling state between the drive positions.

Tool turret

A lathe comprises two turrets each arranged on a compound slide system. The turrets are mounted on sides of the two compound slide systems facing each other and have indexing axes extending parallel or at a slight incline to the work spindle axis of the lathe. To reduce the danger of collisions between the two turrets and to enable the two turret bodies to be moved close together, the turret body located on the headstock side is smaller and has less stations than the other turret body with the result that the circles described by the tool cutting edges during rotation of the two turrets are smaller in the case of one turret than in the other.

A pressure regulator for hydraulically controlled machine tools comprises a first directly controlled three-way pressure-regulating valve with which required work pressure can be set by a machine control system. In addition to a first surface, the control spool is provided with a second surface to which hydraulic fluid under the pressure at the pressure port can be applied by means of an externally controllable valve. This results in an additional force acting upon the control spool in the direction opposite to, or in the direction of, the force exerted by the elastic element on the control spool.

Pressure regulator for hydraulically controlled machine tools

Multispindle-automatic turret lathe comprising a spindle support which is rotatable about a central switching or indexing axis and in which are rotatably mounted a number of work spindles each defining one switching or indexing station of the spindle support. In order to enable the tools which are fitted on the turret being precisely measured in that position thereof in which the tools are required to work a measuring station is provided on the spindle support in like geometrical relation to the indexing axis as the workspindles, said measuring station defining a further switching or indexing station of the spindle support. In order also to enable a tool change being executed with the aid of the manipulating means which are provided for changing the workpieces or to enable tools being transferred directly from the spindle support to the turret and vice versa the spindle support is further provided with a tool-gripper station arranged in like geometrical relation to the indexing axis as the workspindles and defining a further indexing station of the spindle support.

Multispindle-automatic turret lathe

A steady for holding rod-shaped components 40 of circular cross-section, with three holding-members in a common plane, one holding-member 16 being linearly movable and the other two being pivoted twin arm-levers 12, 14 and arranged to be operated as the holding member 16 is moved linearly, the distances of the members 12, 14 16 from the component center being maintained substantially equal and the drive connection between the linearly movable holding member 16 and the pivoting holding members 12, 14 being through eccentrics 48, 50 automatically rotatable for pivoting the holding members 12, 14 by an adjuster means 52.

Steady for holding rod-like circular cross-section components

The turret on a slide of a machine tool is indexible between a plurality of positions in a sequence which is selected by a program. The apparatus for effecting the indexing of turret has a control unit wherein a hydraulic motor can rotate an indexing shaft at different speeds which are determined by the reciprocable spool of a valve regulating the flow of hydraulic fluid from the motor. The spool can be biased against a cam on the indexing shaft by a spring and can be retracted by an electromagnet which is controlled by a decoding unit having several cams on a camshaft which is driven by the turret and several switches which are adjacent to the camshaft. The decoding unit selects the direction of rotation of the motor so as to insure that the indexing of turret from a preceding position to the next-following position does not involve a rotation through more than 180 degrees, and the decoding unit further determines the timing of deenergization of the electromagnet to thus enable the spring to urge the spool against the cam on the indexing shaft immediately before a follower of the spool is in register with a notch machined into the periphery of the cam on the indexing shaft and bounded by a surface which effects gradual deceleration of the motor to zero speed. The turret is automatically unlocked from the slide prior to starting of the motor and is automatically locked to the slide when the motor is arrested.

Apparatus for effecting and controlling the indexing of tool turrets in

At least two longitudinally spaced and axially adjustable anti-friction bearings are provided on a support and each of these has an inner and an outer race. A spindle is rotatably journalled in these bearings and has one end adjacent one of the bearings. The spindle is subject to the action of axial forces acting upon one end in direction toward another end of the spindle which is adjacent the other bearing. A pressure-exerting arrangement adjacent the other end serves to exert upon the other bearing a counter force acting in direction towards the one end of the spindle and tending to shift the spindle counter to the axial forces, and a transmitting arrangement transmits the counter force to the outer race of the one bearing to adjust the same axially relative to the spindle in accordance with the shifting of the latter.
