A method for checking the association of radio nodes and objects to a radio environment with a radio node set having at least three radio nodes spaced apart from one another, each with a radio interface and its separate timer, wherein at least two radio nodes are reference radio nodes with known distances from one another and at least one radio node is a test radio node, the association of which with the radio environment of the reference radio node is checked. During a measuring process, signals are emitted and received by radio nodes of the radio node set, wherein at least two radio nodes of the radio node set operate as transceivers and at least one radio node exclusively operates as a transmitter or exclusively operates as a receiver or a transceiver.

Method for checking the association of radio nodes and of objects with a radio environment

A method for radio measuring applications, wherein at least a first radio node operates as an initiator and at least a second radio node as a transponder, in a first step a first carrier frequency is transmitted by the initiator as an initial signal and received by the transponder. In a second step a response signal with a second carrier frequency is transmitted by the transponder and received by the initiator, during a measurement cycle at least one step sequence of the first and the second step is performed. First the first steps of all sequence of steps and subsequently at least a portion of the second steps of the step sequences are performed in succession, the first carrier frequency assumes a value within a predetermined frequency domain for each repetition, and the initial signals and the response signals are mutually coherent at least within the measurement cycle.

Method for radio measuring applications

A method for radio measuring applications, wherein at least two radio nodes operate at least once in a transmit mode and in a receive mode and form a cell and at least one radio node operates as an extra radio node works exclusively in a receive or transmit mode, each radio node has a timer and a further data interface, to initiate the measurement cycle, an initial signal with a first carrier frequency is transmitted by one of the radio nodes and received by at least one radio node of the cell, during the measurement cycle at least one radio node of the cell transmits a response signal with a further carrier frequency and the response signal is received by at least one radio node.

A method for radio measuring applications, wherein a first radio node functions as an initiator and a second radio node as a transponder, each radio node has its own timer and a data interface, in a first step, the initiator transmits a first carrier frequency as an initial signal and the initial signal is received by the transponder during a first reception period, in a second step, a response signal with a second carrier frequency is transmitted by the transponder and the response signal is received by the initiator during a second reception period. At least two radio nodes of the radio node set operate as transceivers during a measurement process and at least one radio node operates exclusively as a transmitter or exclusively as a receiver or as a transceiver during the measurement process. The first evaluation step is performed at least once in a first pass for two reference radio nodes and is performed at least once in a second pass for a test radio node and a reference radio node. A positive or negative decision is made on the association with a radio environment on the basis of at least one result of the first pass and at least one result of the second pass.

Method for checking the association of radio nodes with a radio environment by evaluating interference signal components

In an embodiment, a circuit includes a synchronizer configured to generate a trigger signal synchronized to a reference clock. A synthesizer is configured to synthesize a signal according to frequency control data in response to the trigger signal. A radio receiver is configured to process a carrier signal according to the synthesized signal. A phase measurement unit is configured to measure a first channel frequency response based on the processed carrier signal.

Frequency control data synchronization

In one embodiment, a transceiver may set a first receive frequency of a first channel of the transceiver and a second receive frequency of a second channel of the transceiver. The transceiver may receive, during a first time interval, a first radio frequency (RF) signal on the first channel. The transceiver may determine that a first measured value indicative of a first detectable received RF signal on the first channel exceeds a first predetermined threshold, and in response, receive a first data frame on the first channel. The transceiver may receive, during a second time interval, a second RF signal on the second channel. The transceiver determine that a second measured value indicative of a second detectable received RF signal on the second channel exceeds the first predetermined threshold, and in response, receive a second data frame on the second channel.

Operating a transceiver

In one embodiment, receiving a first radio frequency (RF) signal from a first node, generating a first digital data set by decoding the first received RF signal, determining whether a first address in the first digital data set is associated with at least one of a first radio network or a second radio network by comparing the first address to a first set of addresses associated with the first radio network and a second set of addresses associated with the second radio network, appending a first status to the first digital data set indicating that the first address is associated with the first or second radio network, and transmitting an interrupt signal and the first digital data set to a microcontroller for evaluation by the microcontroller in response to determining that the first address is associated with at least one of the first or second radio network.

Transmitting-receiving apparatus

An automatic gain controller for transceiver elements uses a digital topology to achieve an efficient and rapid gain settling so that an output signal of the variable gain section is within a predefined range. In one embodiment, an input signal is periodically sampled and latched so as represent the gain excess of a variable gain section. An accumulator, including an adder having saturation characteristics and a latch as a feedback element, creates a number for a new gain setting so that the variable gain section may adapt to the new gain setting within one clock period. In one example, a gain range of 84 dB is controllable and settling is achieved within 3 clock periods at most.

Digital automatic gain control for transceiver devices

An electrostatic discharge protection network comprising electrostatic discharge (ESD) clamp devices distributed between turns of a coil shaped inductor. The inductance of the coil shaped inductor and parasitic capacitance of the ESD clamp devices form a low pass filter structure having a very high cut-off frequency. Below the low pass filter cutoff frequency, the capacitive influence of the ESD clamp devices are cancelled by the series inductance of the coil shaped inductor. The turns of the coil shaped inductor may be fabricated on insulation layers proximate to one another so as to achieve close magnetic coupling there between, thereby achieving a larger inductance value for a given sized coil structure. Improved input and output impedance matching is also achieved by adjusting the inductive and capacitive components of the low pass filter structure formed by the coil shaped inductor and capacitance of the ESD clamp devices.

Electrostatic discharge protection network having distributed components

The invention provides a harmonic direct conversion mixer having a multiplier circuit comprising first and second mixers and a generator for generating two first and two second control signals for controlling the first and second mixers. The control signals are balanced signals and are provided in four phases shifted by &#x3c0;/2 in phase. The frequency of the control signals is different from the frequency of the mixer input signal.

Harmonic mixer

An electronic circuit with an improved current stabilization operating in an RF transceiver or receiver, e.g. in a wireless local area network system, and a corresponding method is provided for generating a supply current and supplying the generated supply current to at least two subunits of the electronic circuit. The at least two subunits are connected in parallel to each other. Each of the subunits receives an input voltage at an input transistor in the first one of at least two parallel current paths of the subunit. Each subunit stabilizes the current through the input transistor by means of a control circuit a second current path of the subunit and a common voltage output terminal is connected to each subunit for outputting a voltage. The provided technique may allow for detecting maximum values or generating absolute values.

Electronic circuit with improved current stabilization

The invention provides a mixer comprising a multiplier circuit having a first and a second mixer, a generator for generating two first and two second control signals for controlling the first and second mixers, wherein the first and second control signals are in each case balanced signals and the first control signals have a frequency fand the second control signals have a different frequency f.

Mixer

A mixer circuit is provided for receiving first and second input signals to be mixed and for producing a mixed output signal. The mixer circuit comprises a pair of switching transistors each of which having first, second and third terminals. The mixer circuit further comprises a single ended input connected to the first terminals of the pair of switching transistors, a local oscillator input connected to the second terminals of the pair of switching transistors for controlling the switching of the transistors, a serial capacitor connected in serial connection between the single ended input and the first terminals of the pair of switching transistors, a pair of output capacitors each of which being connected to a third terminal of the pair of switching transistors. Said third terminals of said pair of switching transistors forming an output port. The mixer circuit provides a mixer schematic with improved noise performance.

Mixing apparatus

An inductor and transformer comprise a plurality of interleaved conductive layers and insulation layers fabricated on a monolithic semiconductor integrated circuit die. The conductive layers are shaped into coil turns of the inductor and the transformer, and are stacked vertically (perpendicular to the horizontal plane of the coil layers) and proximate to one another so as to achieve close magnetic coupling therebetween, thereby achieving a larger inductance value for a given sized coil structure. The conductive layer coil turns are connected together with conductive vias through the interposing insulation layers.
