A guiding and stacking system, is provided particularly for guiding and stacking sheet metal parts which are supplied by a press system. The system has a distributing guide which branches the parts flow to two or more guiding and stacking belts. In their entirety or in parts, the guiding and stacking belts operate in the start/stop operation and thus permit the transfer to mechanical gripper devices or manual removal of the sheet metal parts.

A press is provided with gripping rails for moving workpieces in work stations. The press is provided with a motor and a shaft moved thereby, on which shaft cams are mounted. Swing levers follow the shape of the cams, and connecting tabs direct the movements of swing levers toward driving movements of the gripping rails. At least two rollers are rotatably mounted on swing levers. The rollers run on the shaft cams. At least one of the two rollers is pressable with zero play against one of cams by a pretensioning device.

An installation for feeding sheet-metal blanks to a first working stage of a multi-stage press, in which the blanks fed individually by way of a suspension conveyor into the area of an intermediate deposit station are to be transferred to active gripping devices attached at the transfer rails. For avoiding standstill periods of the transfer rails during the closing of the active gripping devices, the blank is lifted during the lifting of the transfer rail synchronously therewith. A carriage adapted to be lifted and lowered serves for that purpose which is synchronized by way of a crank drive at least in the lifting phase of the transfer rails with the lifting-lowering drive of the transfer rails.
