A sealing system for sealing shafts against liquid media, for example propeller shafts, impeller shafts, rudder stocks of ships and the like. Opposing corner regions of the sealing system that are located radially inside of a clamping space, for clamping at least one sealing ring, are formed by inclined run-on surfaces that diverge when viewed radially from the inside towards the outside. For accommodation in the clamping space, a clamping section of the sealing ring comprises two opposite edge regions that are formed by inclined surfaces that correspond to the run-on surfaces.

Sealing system and sealing ring

A seal for sealing around a shaft includes a radially outer clamp-in element to be clamped into a housing, an intermediate membrane part extending radially inwardly (toward the shaft) at an angle from the clamp-in element, and an angled base part at a radially inner end of the intermediate membrane part. A spring is received in a receiving groove that forms a spring pocket in the base part, and the spring exerts a contact pressure of a seal lip of the base part against the shaft. In a pressureless state without a pressure differential across the seal, the spring pocket has a width larger than the sectional diameter of the spring and thus forms a free play space for the spring in the pocket.

Seal for sealing shafts

A sealing arrangement is provided, including a sealing ring for sealing two machine elements from one another, the sealing ring being conFIGUREd in an installation space for the second machine element that is open toward the first machine element to be sealed, and sealingly contacting the surface to be sealed of the first machine element, by way of at least one dynamically loaded first sealing lip. The sealing ring is arranged under elastic axial and radial preloading within the installation space.

Sealing arrangement, sealing ring and use thereof

A rod or piston primary seal, which includes a primary seal () facing the space () to be sealed and a secondary seal () facing away from it, in which the primary seal () is fitted into the groove (), of a holding element (), open in the direction of the relatively movable machine part () which is bounded, on the side facing away from the space () to be sealed, by a first side surface () which extends essentially at right angles to the sealing axis (), and includes a sealing edge ring () made of tough, hard plastic which has a sealing edge () lying adjacent to the machine part () and is pressed with its sealing edge () onto the machine part () by a profile ring () made of elastomeric material which is supported on the bottom surface () of groove () and lies adjacent to sealing edge ring () with its inner surface (), the sealing edge ring () having a profile bounded essentially by a right angle between the sealing edge () and the bounding surface () facing the first side surface (); and, in the unloaded state of seal (), surface () bounding the sealing edge () on the side facing away from the pressure subtends an angle (&#x3b2;) of at most 8&#xb0; with the sealing axis (); and the sealing edge ring () is penetrated by at least one discharge opening () positioned between sealing edge () and the outer surface of wiper ring () and opens out onto the bounding surface ().
