Disclosed is a drive mechanism for driving a spin test rig, comprising a transmission casing () which accommodates a transmission gear unit () having a vertical output shaft () and an input shaft () coaxial therewith. The output shaft () has an upper end arranged in the transmission gear unit () and a lower end adapted to be coupled to a test object. The transmission casing () includes a casing lower part () detachable therefrom with the gear unit installed, in which casing part the output shaft () is axially and radially carried in bearings () at a distance from its ends. The transmission gear unit () is configured such that the output shaft (), together with the casing lower part () and the bearings arranged therein, is removable from the transmission casing ().

Drive mechanism for a spin test rig

Disclosed is a mounting device () including a receiving opening () with a circular inner locating surface () which is coaxial with the axis of rotation () and serves for engagement with radially outer vertices () of the polygon profile of a holding pin (). Arranged adjacent to the inner locating surface is a positioning disk () which has an opening () coaxial with the axis of rotation () and of such polygonal shape and size that the polygon profile of the holding pin () engaging in the opening () is supported in the opening () in a manner preventing relative rotation.

Mounting device for a rotary spindle of a balancing machine

Disclosed is a clamping device of a balancing machine for coaxially clamping a toolholder on a spindle rotary about an axis of rotation (), in which the coupling shank () is supported in the receiving socket only on discrete supports (-) which are spaced from each other circumferentially and lie in three relatively spaced engagement planes (E, E, E) intersecting the axis of rotation (). Four rigid discrete supports (-) are arranged in pairs in the first (E) and the second (E) engagement plane and combine to form a rigid support in a first radial direction. Formed in the third engagement plane (E) lying between the first and the second engagement plane is a fifth discrete support () which effects a supporting function in a second radial direction opposite the first radial direction.

A drive shaft balancing machine for dynamic balancing of drive shafts includes two pedestals. Each pedestal includes a spring-mounted upper part receiving a rotary spindle, a support receiving an end of a drive shaft to be balanced and a first vibration sensor detecting upper part vibrations resulting from an unbalance of the drive shaft and further involved forces in at least a first degree of freedom of motion normal to the spindle axis. On the upper part of at least one pedestal a second vibration sensor is mounted which detects the vibrations of the upper part in at least a second degree of freedom of motion. An evaluating circuit analyzes and links the vibration signals of the first and the second vibration sensors so that pitch vibration excitations of the upper part not caused by the unbalance of the drive shaft do not enter the drive shaft unbalance value computed.

A clamping chuck () for radially clamping workpieces with a cylindrical outer clamping surface includes an annular base member () which has a hole (), a shoulder (), which projects inwards radially and forms a contact surface for the workpiece, an axially-extending hole face () and tabs () which project inwards radially. Arranged on the base member () is a clamping member which is divided into a plurality of substantially L-shaped clamping elements (), which each include a clamping head () arranged in the hole and an actuating lever () which extends outwards radially from the clamping head (). Each clamping head () includes, on the outer side thereof, at least one cam (), which projects outwards radially, engages in a gap between the shoulder () and the tabs () and is supported radially by the hole face () and axially by at least one tab (). On their inner side, each clamping head has a clamping edge () which is arranged in such a way that, upon rotation of the clamping elements (), during which the actuating levers () move away from the base member (), the edge moves inwards in a radial direction and towards the shoulder () in an axial direction.

A method is disclosed for the automatic detection and identification of errors in a balancing machine during operation, in which a rotor provided with an unbalance is rotatably mounted in a vibratory bearing in the balancing machine and is set in rotation by a drive, the rotational frequency of the rotating rotor and the vibrations stimulated by the rotor are measured and measurement signals which comprise the measured values of the rotational frequency and the vibrations are generated and delivered to an evaluation computer. The evaluation calculation is based on mathematical models of the dynamic properties of the balancing machine which describe stimulations of the machine structure due to the unbalance, in particular in the balancing planes, and/or due to the rotor geometry and/or due to the bearing and/or possible damage to the bearing. Features such as vibration characteristics and/or process parameters are calculated by a signal-model-based method from the measurement signals, and discrepancies are established by comparing the calculated features with predetermined normal features of an error-free process.

Method for the automatic detection and identification of errors in a balancing machine

For compensating unbalance of vehicle wheels, adhesive weight elements () are positioned and pressed onto a determined compensation surface () on a wheel () using a balancing head () and a program-controlled handling device (). The adhesive weight elements () in the form of an endless weight strand () are fed by a feed device () arranged on the balancing head () to a following roll-on roller () that presses the beginning of the endless weight strand () onto the beginning of the compensation surface () and thereafter rolls along thereon. A length cut-off device () is provided in or before the roll-on roller () and cuts-off the endless weight strand () of the adhesive weight elements () in a determined length.

Method and device for compensating unbalances of vehicle wheels

A device for holding a constructional unit () of a double clutch in a balancing machine, wherein the constructional unit () comprises a clutch cage () to be balanced, with a pivot bearing () and driving disks (), and contains a bearing mandrel (), which has a first clamping device () for clamping the pivot bearing () rotatably bearing the clutch cage () to be balanced and a second clamping device () for clamping the driving disk (). One of the clamping devices () is adjustable in respect of the bearing mandrel () in the axial direction by means of an operating device (). The bearing mandrel () additionally has a third clamping device () for clamping the driving disk (), which is stationary or adjustable in respect of the bearing mandrel () in the axial direction by means of an operating device ().

A device for mounting rotors, in particular articulated shafts, in a balancing machine has a bearing frame and a frame upper part, which is mounted on the bearing frame so as to be able to oscillate via spring bars and includes a spindle for rotatable mounting of a rotor. The frame upper part is mounted on the bearing frame via groups of spring bars, the groups being arranged at a distance from the axis of rotation of the spindle and at a distance from one another, and the longitudinal axes of the spring bars forming the spring bar groups being oriented parallel to the axis of rotation of the spindle. The spring bars forming the spring bar groups have an elongated, slender shape such that their rigidity in an axial direction is at least 100 times, in particular at least 300 times, greater than their radial flexural rigidity.

Modem rotary machine production requires built-in fault detection and diagnoses. The occurrence of faults, e.g. increased friction or loose bonds has to be detected as early as possible. Theses faults generate a nonlinear behavior. Therefore, a method for fault detection and diagnosis of a rotary machine is presented. Based on a rotor system model for the faulty and un-faulty case, subspace-based identification methods are used to compute singular values that are used as features for fault detection. The method is tested on an industrial rotor balancing machine.

In a rotor bearing arrangement for a balancing machine having a bearing housing () which is supported in a radially resilient manner in a highly stiff bearing stand () by means of at least two identically configured and arranged spring elements, the spring elements are arranged on opposite sides of the bearing housing () so as to be symmetrical about a plane containing the main axis of the bearing and the bearing stand () has two supporting arms () arranged at a distance from one another, between which the bearing housing () is arranged and on which the spring elements are supported.

In the case of an imbalance measuring device with a bearing device for static fluid bearing of the rotor (), to improve the balance quality and to shorten the required time for balancing, it is proposed that the bearing device has at least two open, fluid-supplied bearing shells (') to receive sections of the rotor periphery and at least one bearing plate (&#x2032;) which is assigned to a rotor end surface and supplied with fluid. The drive is decoupled from the rotor () during the imbalance measuring process, and the measuring process preferably takes place during time-variable rotary behavior of the rotor ().

Unbalance measuring device and method for unbalance measurement

A balancing station for positioning and holding a vehicle wheel for the attachment of a balance weight has a clamping device which has at least two mutually opposing jaws designed for pressing against the wheel periphery, the jaws being rotatably mounted around a common clamping axis. At least one jaw is rotatable and movable to and fro in the direction of the clamping axis via a drive. Via a conveyor device the vehicle wheel can be conveyed prone between the jaws of the clamping device. The clamping device can be moved into a tilted position wherein the clamping axis is inclined at an angle of at least 30 degrees from the horizontal out of a basic position wherein the clamping axis of the jaws is aligned substantially horizontally. In this way, weights can be applied particularly ergonomically to the inner face of the wheel.
