A microtome has a blade holder on which a blade is mounted, an anti-roll device for supporting a section preparation that has been produced by means of the blade, and a suction device by means of which the section preparation can be picked up by suction and carried off. The suction device has a nozzle, with an adjustably mounted nozzle body, and a suction channel. Provision is made that the anti-roll device is mounted on the nozzle body and is adjustable, in particular pivotable, together therewith.

Microtome

A method for disinfecting a microtome cryostat () comprises a defrosting phase (), provision () of a vaporous disinfection agent () which acts upon the closed cryostat chamber () and a period of time () during which said disinfection agent () acts, and having an associated device for carrying out the method. According to the invention, fast and effective disinfection and rapid restarting of a microtome cryostat () is possible with secure drying, the temperature difference (&#x394;T, &#x394;T) being produced after the period of time () in the cryostat chamber () whereupon the precipitated disinfection agent () is removed () to a cold area.

A device and a method for disinfecting a microtome cryostat with introduction of a disinfection agent () into the cryostat chamber (), action of the disinfection agent on the cryostat chamber, removal of the disinfection agent () by precipitation in a colder area () and drainage away from there. To enable such a microtome cryostat () to be disinfected several times per day without prolonged interruption of operation, a disinfection agent is used () that is effective below 0&#xb0; C. and is introduced as a mist into the cryostat chamber () at below 0&#xb0; C., the disinfection agent () being effective as a frost deposit in the cryostat chamber, wherein the frost deposit is displaced into a colder area () by sublimation and is converted to liquid by sporadic defrosting phases of this area () and thus removed.

Method and device for disinfecting a microtome cryostat

The invention relates to a tempering device () for objects () located on the object carrier () of a microtome () of a cryostat () comprising an operating means supply () connected to a cooling device or a cooling and heating device () arranged on the object carrier (), and a temperature control system. According to the invention, one such tempering device () is embodied in such a way that the operating means supply () does not hinder the work carried out on the microtome (), and the accuracy of the cut is affected as little as possible. To this end, the operating means supply () is displaceably positioned in a guiding element () which is arranged on the guiding carriage () for the advancing movement () and the cutting movement () of the object head () and is oriented parallel to the direction of advancement (), in such a way that it can be guided away from the object head ().

Tempering device for a microtome

The suction device according to the invention for cryostatic microtomes has a filter for the separation of cutting wastes from the suction air stream, and a device arranged following the filter for sterilization or disinfection of the suction air stream. For this purpose, the air stream is first heated and then exposed to a strong UV irradiation. In the subsequent two-stage cooling arrangement, the air stream is cooled down again to about the cryostat temperature and is conducted back into the cryostat. The filter for the separation of the cutting wastes from the air stream is preferably constructed outside the cryostat as a liquid container with a disinfecting liquid, so that the cutting wastes are disinfected in the disinfecting liquid. A contamination of the surroundings or of the internal space of the cryostat with disease germs is largely prevented.

Suction device for cutting wastes in a cryostatic microtome

A cryostatic microtome has a cryostatic chamber, and a microtome arranged in the cryostatic chamber, and including a specimen holder and a knife holder. In order to maintain high dynamics with respect to temperature changes and thereby a rapid matching to changing specimen consistencies, a coolable specimen holder and a coolable knife holder are provided, so that both the temperature of the specimen holder and also the temperature of the knife holder are adjustable independently of each other. Sections of improved quality can be attained by the free and independent temperature adjustment of the knife and specimen.
