A radial cage for receiving and guiding cylindrical rolling elements includes first and second axially spaced side rings and a plurality of axial bridges therebetween, the axial bridges defining a plurality of pockets for receiving the cylindrical rolling elements. Each of the plurality of axial bridges includes a first axial side section connected to the first side ring and a second axial side section connected to the second side ring and a center axial section, and the center axial section is connected to the first side section via a first oblique intermediate section and to the second side section via a second oblique intermediate section, and the first axial side section includes a first region having a first material thickness and a second region having a second material thickness greater than the first material thickness.

Radial cage for bearings having high rotational speeds

A cage for a crankshaft bearing or a connecting-rod bearing of an internal combustion engine or for a compressor has a plurality of receiving pockets for guiding bearing rolling elements and has an axial width. The cage includes at least first and second cage segments, each cage segment having a segment axial width equal to the axial width of the cage and having a first end circumferentially spaced from a second end, the first cage segment first end being connected to the second cage segment second end by an interference fit and the first cage segment second end being connected to the second cage segment first end by an interference fit.

Cage for a crankshaft bearing or connecting-rod bearing of an internal combustion engine or of a compressor

A rolling-element bearing cage includes two axially spaced-apart side rings extending in a circumferential direction. Each side ring is split in the circumferential direction along at least one cutting line, thereby defining bordering surfaces on first and second bearing cage sections. A plurality of connecting bridges connects the side rings in an axial direction. First and second pairs of mutually-opposing first projections and corresponding first openings are disposed on the side rings along the bordering surfaces of the first and second bearing cage sections and fix the bordering surfaces to each other in at least first and second directions that are perpendicular to each other. A pair of a second projection and a corresponding second opening is disposed axially between the first and second pairs of first projections and first openings and fixes the bordering surfaces to each other in a third direction perpendicular to the first and second directions.

Split bearing cage for rolling element bearing

A bearing arrangement for a camshaft and a camshaft are provided. The bearing arrangement includes a bearing point in a bearing support frame that receives a camshaft, a bearing rolling-element cage and a bearing outer sleeve. The rolling-element cage and the outer sleeve are configured such that the outer diameter of the outer sleeve is smaller than the inside diameter of the bearing point and the outer diameter of the rolling-element cage is smaller than the inner diameter of the outer sleeve. The rolling-element cage may be provided with retention features that axially secure the cage to the outer sleeve. The rolling-element cage and/or the outer sleeve may be provided with collars that axially constrain the bearing relative to the support frame. A camshaft including at least one such bearing arrangement is also provided.

A bearing cage for a rolling-element bearing includes first and second axially spaced-apart side rings extending in a circumferential direction, each side ring being split in the circumferential direction along a line of separation, thereby defining mutually-opposing bordering surfaces on first and second bearing cage sections. A first projection and a corresponding first opening are disposed on or in the mutually-opposing bordering surfaces of the first and second bearing cage sections. The first projection is insertable into the first opening in the circumferential direction to fix the bearing cage sections in at least a first direction. A second projection and a corresponding second opening are disposed on or in radially-extending, mutually-opposing bordering surfaces of the first projection and first opening. The second projection and second opening fix the bearing cage sections to each other in at least two additional directions, which are each perpendicular to the first direction.
