A gearbox for vehicles that include a split gearbox, a main gearbox and a range gearbox. The range gearbox is shiftable into a low range gear, a high range gear and a reverse gear. The range gearbox includes a planetary gear, which may be shifted into a reverse gear. The split gearbox and the main gearbox are together arranged to have a combined ratio spread larger than 5, in that the split gearbox and the main gearbox are together arranged to have a combined largest gear ratio over 4:1, and in that the planetary gear in the range gearbox has a gear ratio less than 4:1 when shifted into the reverse gear.

Gearbox for vehicles

A gearbox for vehicles that includes a split gearbox, a main gearbox and a range gearbox, which is shiftable into a low range gear position and a high range gear position. The range gearbox includes a planetary gear with a ring gear wheel, a sun gear wheel and a planet carrier, on which at least one planet gear wheel is rotatably mounted. A gearbox housing surrounds the planetary gear. A first axially movable coupling sleeve engages the planet carrier with the gearbox housing. A second axially movable coupling sleeve engages the ring gear wheel with an output shaft to shift into a reverse gear. A crawler gear in the main gearbox is arranged to transfer torque through the gearbox when the range gearbox is shifted into the reverse gear.

A gearbox for vehicles, comprising a split gearbox (C), a main gearbox (A) and a range gearbox (B), which is shiftable into a low range gear, a high range gear and a reverse gear; the range gearbox (B) comprising a planetary gear () with a ring gear wheel (), a sun gear wheel () and a planet carrier (), on which at least one planet gear wheel () is rotatable mounted, which ring gear wheel () and sun gear wheel () engage with the at least one planet gear wheel (); a gearbox housing () surrounding the planetary gear (); a first axially movable coupling sleeve () arranged to engage the planet carrier () with the gearbox housing (); and a second axially movable coupling sleeve () arranged to engage the ring gear wheel () with an output shaft () for achieving the reverse gear in the gearbox (). The split gearbox (C) and the main gearbox (A) are together arranged to have a combined largest gear ratio which is larger than the gear ratio in the planetary gear () in the range gearbox (B) when the planetary gear () is shifted into the reverse gear.

A method for controlling a gearbox () that includes a main gearbox () provided with a splitter shaft () and a main shaft (), connectable to a power source (). The splitter shaft () is connected to a lay shaft () by at least a first and a second splitter gear pair (). The main shaft () is connected to a lay shaft () by at least a first gear pair (). The method includes a) preparing a shifting of gear in the gearbox () by transferring essentially the same speed and torque between the splitter and the main shafts (), and b) shifting gear in the gearbox ().

A method for controlling a gearbox that includes, a) shifting gear from a low range gear to a high range gear in the range gearbox (); b) disconnecting a ring gear () of a planetary gear from a gearbox housing (), synchronizing the speed between a third gear drive () on the main shaft () and the main shaft (), connecting the third gear drive () and the main shaft (); c) disconnecting a first part () of the main shaft () from a second part () of the main shaft (), synchronizing the speed between a first gear wheel () and a lay shaft (), connecting the first gear wheel () and the lay () shaft via a second and a third gear wheel (); and d) disconnecting the first, the second and the third gear wheels () and from the lay shaft (), synchronizing the speed between the second part () of the main shaft () and a planet carrier () of a planetary gear (), connecting the second part () of the main shaft () and the planet carrier (); a gearbox (), controlled by the method; and a vehicle () that comprises such a gearbox ().

A gearbox is provided comprising a planetary gearbox with a ring gear, sun wheel and planetary wheel carrier, on which at least one planetary wheel is mounted in a rotatable manner and is engaged via teeth with the ring gear and sun wheel; a first axially shiftable coupling sleeve, which in first gear position disconnects an input shaft to the gearbox from the planetary wheel carrier, and in a second gear position connects the input shaft with the planetary wheel carrier; and a second axially shiftable coupling sleeve, which in the first gear position connects a gearbox house surrounding the planetary gearbox with the ring gear, and in the second gear position disconnects the gearbox house from the ring gear. An axial stop, mounted on the planetary wheel carrier, abuts against and is connected with the ring gear and prevents the ring gear from shifting axially.

Gearbox for vehicles and vehicle, comprising such a gearbox

A gearbox comprising a planetary gearbox with a ring gear, a sun wheel and a planetary wheel carrier, on which at least one planetary wheel is rotatably mounted, which ring gear and sun wheel engage with the at least one planetary wheel; and a first axially shiftable coupling sleeve, which in a first gear position disconnects an input shaft from the planetary wheel carrier, and in a second gear position disconnects the input shaft with the planetary wheel carrier. A second axially shiftable coupling sleeve arranged to connect a gearbox house with the ring gear in the first gear position, and to disconnect the gearbox house from the ring gear in the second gear position. A third axially shiftable coupling sleeve arranged to connect the ring gear with an output shaft in a third gear position, wherein the second axially shiftable coupling sleeve arranged to connect the planetary wheel carrier with the gearbox house in the third gear position.

Gearbox for a vehicle and vehicle, comprising such a gearbox

A gearbox has a first shaft with at least two journalled gearwheels, a first gearwheel to drive the first shaft in a first direction and a second gearwheel to drive the first shaft in a second direction. Devices selectively lock the gearwheels situated on the first shaft for joint rotation. A second has at least two fixed gearwheels, one second gearwheel cooperates with the first gearwheel for operation in the first direction. A third shaft with a third gearwheel which selectively in or out of engagement with the first and second gearwheels for operation in the first direction. The first gearwheel intended for operation in the first direction is also in engagement with one or more further power-transmitting device used for connecting at least one form of extra equipment, e.g. a retarder or a power take-off.

Gear box

A gearbox arrangement including a dual-clutch gearbox and an adjoining range gearbox. The dual-clutch gearbox comprises an extra motion-transmitting connection adapted to transmit rotary motion from a primary gear to the output shaft without use of the range gearbox, so that the gearbox arrangement provides an extra gear of at least one primary gear. The extra gear is so dimensioned that it has a higher transmission ratio than the gear achieved by the primary gear with a low transmission ratio in the range gearbox, and a lower transmission ratio than the gear achieved by the primary gear with a high transmission ratio in the range gearbox.
