The device includes an air release valve for a fuel tank of a motor vehicle, the air release valve comprising a housing defining at least one inlet opening therein, a central axis and a wall disposed proximate the inlet opening, the wall defining at least two outlet openings therein, the two outlet openings being sized differently; a sealing seat disposed about the two outlet openings; a float disposed in the housing moveable along the central axis, the float defining a center aligned with the central axis; and a flexible membrane attached proximate the center and extending freely therefrom to seal the two outlet openings.

Air release valve for fuel tank of a motor vehicle

A fuel tank arrangement for a motor vehicle. The arrangement includes a fuel tank containing fuel therein and having a gas space disposed above the fuel, and a venting device connected to the fuel tank. The venting device includes an activated charcoal filter and a venting conduit connecting the gas space to the activated charcoal filter for establishing gas communication therebetween. A stop valve is disposed in the venting conduit and is adapted to open gas communication between the gas space and the activated charcoal filter during refueling. Moreover, a fuel separator is disposed in the venting conduit for separating fuel from a gas flow through the venting conduit thereby yielding separated fuel.

Venting device for vehicle fuel tanks

A regulator with a hysteresis-affected characteristic curve has a manually operable actuating element for presetting a desired control variable, an axially displaceable control slide for adjusting the preset control variable and a control incline which is coupled to the actuating element. The control incline converts, by means of a rising control face, the adjustment movement of the actuating element into a axial displacement of the control slide. For the purpose of compensating the hysteresis when adjusting a control a variable such that the same control variable is brought about by rotating the actuating element to the left or to the right into the same setting, the control incline bears a toothing along its control face. Each tooth has, in two planes which extend along the displacement direction of the control face and are perpendicular to one another, a sawtooth-like contour with in each case a rising edge for running up the control slide and a falling edge which follows in the displacement direction. Each tooth contour is associated with one of the two displacement directions. Each tooth contour is associated with one of the two displacement direction of the control incline and deflects the control slide in the axial direction or transversely thereto.

Regulator with hysteresis-affected characteristic curve

A pressure regulator whose initial pressure can be set by manually setting the initial stress of a control spring has a double-seated valve with an inner and outer valve seat and a valve closing element. The valve closing element divides a supply pressure chamber from a control pressure chamber and the latter from a pressure-relief chamber. The inner valve seat is arranged on a control piston which is loaded by the control spring. In order to set a higher initial pressure, the initial stress of the control spring is increased, in order to reduce pressure, the initial stress of the spring is diminished. During this process, the outer or inner valve seat lifts off temporarily from the valve closing element until equilibrium is reestablished by a corresponding pressure chamber and the double-seated valve closes. In order to compensate the hysteresis occurring here, a lifting device is provided which, when the initial stress of the control spring is reduced, briefly lifts off the inner valve seat from the valve closing element and then becomes inactive again. The superproportional pressure drop associated with this in the control pressure chamber has the effect that the equilibrium of forces for closing the double-seated valve is always produced after the outer valve seat is opened by the pressure increase.

Pressure regulation

In a vacuum distributor box with a suction connection and several vacuum connections, all the vacuum connections are equipped with non-return valves open only when vacuum lines are inserted, both the seals of the box housing itself and the those of the vacuum lines relative to the box housing and the valve sealing seats of the non-return valves being incorporated in a diaphragm seal clamped on all sides between two housing parts.
