A manually operated ejector receiving a cartridge containing viscous material, the chamber of which is provided with a lock for holding the cartridge, said lock being disposed for displacement in its lengthwise direction independently of the piston of the ejector.

Manually operated ejector device for holding a cartridge

A manually operated ejector device for containing a cartridge loaded with viscous material, having a chamber with a front end adapted to contain the cartridge and a back end, a piston disposed in the chamber for engagement in the cartridge, a handle arranged at the back end of the chamber, and a lever displaceable relative to the chamber and the handle for driving the piston in order to drive the latter in its longitudinal direction toward the front end of the chamber. To improve the safety of the handling of the ejector device, the piston has a spring case and a plunger, the spring case having a chamber whose one end is closed and whose other, front end has an opening, the transition between the chamber and the opening being limited by an abutment surface facing the chamber. The plunger furthermore has a cylinder guided through the opening and, on its back end within the chamber, a plunger head which has a greater diameter than the opening, at least in a direction across the longitudinal axis of plunger and spring case. Between the back end of the plunger head facing away from the cylinder there is disposed a spring unit which is compressible in its longitudinal direction parallel to the longitudinal direction of the piston, the travel stroke of the spring unit being at least as great as the distance to which the spring housing is displaceable in the guide sleeve.

Manually operated ejector device

The invention concerns a method of treating surfaces and surface-adjacent layers of dental components in particular. A series of several different plasma treatments produces high adhesion between the plasma-treated surface and a layer of plastic applied thereto. The invention also concerns a method of sealing the surface of work by treating it with plasma and covering it with a layer that contains silicate.

Method of treating surfaces

A discharge lamp includes a lamp tube containing a noble gas, two internal electrodes, and a secondary electrode disposed outside and close to the surface of the lamp tube. In one embodiment, studs are disposed on the lamp tube so as to affix the secondary electrode. In an alternate embodiment, a reflector includes an indentation pointing toward the lamp tube and configured as the secondary ignition wire.

A cartridge for containing material in paste form, having a cylindrical container unit, an outlet tip with an outlet passage disposed at one end of the container unit at an angle to its axis, a protective cap encasing the outlet tip, a mounting disposed at the second end of the cylindrical container unit, which is provided for mounting the cartridge in an ejector device, and a piston having a cylindrical circumferential surface and disposed for movement in the longitudinal direction of the cartridge which is provided for sealing off the cartridge interior as well as for dispensing the paste material. In order to attach the cartridge securely to an ejector device and assure a high standard of hygiene, the end of the outlet tip remote from the container unit, at which an outlet orifice is disposed, is at a radial distance from the axis of the container unit that is no more than exactly as great as the radius of the container unit. The mounting is configured as a screw thread and the protective cap as a cylinder closed at one end, whose inside diameter is at least just as great as the outside diameter of the container unit, the protective cap encasing the container unit.

Cartridge for containing material in paste form

A hand-operated polymerizer for the polymerization of synthetic materials, such as dental plastics. The polymerizer has a housing in which a light source and a fan are disposed, and which includes a light-emitting opening for emitting the light generated by the light source. The housing contains openings for permitting cooling air to enter the housing and for allowing heated air to exit the housing. In order to prevent the operator of the polymerizer from being impaired by heated air when operating the polymerizer, at least one air-conducting member is provided, wherein the position of the air-conducting member is changeable relative to the housing.

Hand-operated polymerizer

Polymerizable materials that contain 'oxetanes' (trimethylene oxides) shrink only slightly when polymerized in the presence of a cationic polymerization catalyst. The materials are particular appropriate for coatings and for medical and dental purposes.

Polymerizable material

A syringe having a bearing divided at least once in the axial direction of a threaded rod into bearing parts. The bearing parts are held at a distance from one another and at a distance from the threaded rod by at least one expanding part. The bearing parts, on their surfaces facing the threaded rod, have surfaces which can be brought by external pressure into engagement with the threaded rod against the resistance of the bearing parts.

Syringe for the controlled discharge of viscous materials

A syringe having a stopper configured at least partly as a membrane surface. The stopper is prestressed opposite to the direction of insertion of a rotary piston so that it assumes a stable position at rest. After displacement by the rotary piston, the membrane surface reversibly returns to this stable position after it is depressurized.

A syringe in which a discharge nozzle is connected to a cartridge of the syringe by ultrasonic welding. The discharge nozzle includes a triangular flow indicator configured to abut a triangular encircling groove located on the cartridge.

Firmly adhering, durable dental metal/plastic composite structures that are stable in the presence of moisture can be made from dental alloys and plastics, if an adhesion promoting layer having a concentration gradient and comprising silicon dioxide and metal oxide, particularly chromium oxide, is disposed between them.
