A method for closed-loop or open-loop control of ink feed in lithographic offset printing presses having at least one inking unit, a control unit and an operating element for adjusting the ink feed across a predetermined ink feed control range, includes subdividing the predetermined control range into partial ranges in the control unit. At least one adjustment parameter of the inking unit or the printing press is assigned to each partial range in the control unit. The control unit determines the appropriate partial range as a function of the ink feed selected with the operating element and adjusts the selected ink feed in the inking unit with associated adjustment parameters in the inking unit and/or in the printing press.

Ink control method for printing presses having short inking units

A method for cleaning an anilox printing unit includes a first process step and a second process step immediately following the first process step without any intermediate printing operation. In the first process step, printing ink is supplied to a screen roller from a blade-type ink fountain while an ink applicator roller is in contact with the screen roller and out of contact with a bridge roller of a dampening unit. In the second process step, printing ink is removed from the screen roller and returned into the same blade-type ink fountain while the ink applicator roller is engaged with the screen roller and with the bridge roller.

In a method for controlling the temperature of a press which has an applicator roller and a screen roller, the screen roller has its temperature controlled at different temperatures and the applicator roller has its temperature controlled at a constant temperature. In this manner, the choice of the screen roller temperatures can be set individually for each printing unit depending on the optical ink density values which the operator desires.

A printing press includes a roller having a first antifriction bearing and a second antifriction bearing. The first antifriction bearing has rolling bodies, a first ring and a second ring. One of the two rings forms an outer ring and the other of the two rings forms an inner ring. Roller sockets are configured as quick action changing devices for receiving the anti-friction bearings during insertion of the roller into the printing press. The first antifriction bearing is configured as an axial floating bearing with a considerable axial movement play of the rolling bodies between the latter and one of the rings. The second antifriction bearing is configured as an axial locating bearing without such a considerable axial movement play. A centering device centers one of the rings relative to the other.

An anilox printing unit includes, as inking unit rolls, an ink applicator roll and an engraved roll mounted in rapid change roll sockets, for removing the engraved roll from the roll sockets and inserting another engraved roll into the roll sockets by an operator. The engraved roll is hollow and a temperature control fluid flows therethrough. The engraved roll and the ink applicator roll each have bearer rings. A device which presses the bearer rings of one inking unit roll against the bearer rings of the other inking unit roll has springs for compensating for diameter differences as a result of manufacturing tolerances between the bearer rings of the engraved roll and the bearer rings of the other engraved roll and for compensating for thermally induced diameter changes of the bearer rings of the engraved roll. A printing press having an anilox printing unit is also provided.

A printing unit contains a dampening unit and an inking unit which includes a screen roller with a circumference and an ink applicator roller with a circumference and a gap having an arc length or curve length, the ink applicator roller resting against the screen roller. The circumference of the screen roller and the circumference of the ink applicator roller and the arc length or curve length of the gap are dimensioned in predetermined proportions relative to each other so as to avoid ghosting.

A method of operating an anilox printing unit in which ink accumulates on and detaches from a feed blade and, after detaching from the feed blade, forms ink accumulations on a screen roller, and in which a gap is formed between the screen roller and a further roller for the ink accumulations to pass through the gap without contacting the further roller, includes forming the gap by displacing the axis of the further roller and evening out the ink accumulations on the screen roller to such an extent that the ink accumulations that have been evened out pass the gap without contacting the further roller. A smoothing roller, for example, may be used to even out the ink accumulations. A printing press for carrying out the method is also provided.

A printing press includes an anilox inking unit having an engraved roller and a washing device with a feed device for introducing detergent and a removal device for removing the detergent and printing ink. Further rollers are disposed between the feed device and the engraved roller and between the engraved roller and the removal device, as viewed in a conveying direction of the detergent. An effective length of the further rollers increases from the feed device to the removal device.

During cleaning, the intermediate roller has been or is displaced axially. Because the intermediate roller can be displaced axially, edge regions of the engraved roller can also be cleaned during a cleaning operation.

A printing material processing machine has an oscillating roll with a roll shaft, a roll barrel rotatably and translatorily mounted on the roll shaft, and an oscillating mechanism for moving the roll barrel to and fro along the roll shaft. The oscillating roll is mountable on a roll lock. A fixing device is provided and constructed in such a way that, in a dismantled state of the oscillating roll, in which the latter is released from the roll lock, the fixing device secures the roll barrel against displacement along the roll shaft and, in an installed state of the oscillating roll, in which the latter is mounted in the roll lock, permits the axial to and fro movement of the roll barrel.
