The invention relates to a method for the operation of an exhaust gas aftertreatment system in an exhaust tract of an internal combustion engine. The exhaust gas aftertreatment system includes an SCR particle filter, a first reducing agent feed device for introducing the reducing agent into the exhaust tract upstream of the SCR particle filter, continuous regeneration of the SCR particle filter being possible using nitrogen dioxide as oxidizing agent, an SCR catalytic converter element arranged downstream of the SCR particle filter, and a second reducing agent feed device for introducing the reducing agent into the exhaust tract downstream of the SCR particle filter and upstream of the SCR catalytic converter element. A control unit regulates a quantity of reducing agent introduced into the exhaust tract by the first reducing agent feed device and/or by the second reducing agent feed device as a function of the temperature (T) of the SCR particle filter.

Method for the operation of an exhaust gas aftertreatment system

An exhaust-gas aftertreatment device for an internal combustion engine, for use in a motor vehicle, includes an exhaust tract with at least one exhaust pipe and at least one exhaust-gas aftertreatment element. The exhaust-pipe internal wall and/or the at least one exhaust-gas aftertreatment element have/has a vapor-sorbing material forming at least one exhaust-tract-side sorption element.

A method and an internal combustion engine for the regeneration of a particle filter includes periodic regeneration phases, where a regeneration is performed by virtue of the soot particles that have been deposited in the particle filter being burned off. During the operation of the internal combustion engine, the reactivity of the soot deposits is determined on the basis of a characteristic map previously established empirically for different engine operating ranges of the internal combustion engine.

A propulsion device for vehicles includes a device for the partial oxidation of fuel, a fuel tank and a diesel internal combustion engine. The device for the partial oxidation of fuel is in fluid connection with the fuel tank and the diesel internal combustion engine, with the result that at least some of the fuel carried in the vehicle is taken for partial oxidation before combustion in the diesel internal combustion engine. A method for operating such propulsion devices using partially oxidized fuel in the propulsion devices reduces soot emissions.

Propulsion device and method for operating same using a partially oxidized diesel fuel

A method is described for reducing nitrogen oxides in the exhaust gas flow of combustion engines, especially a motor vehicle internal combustion engine, wherein an air/fuel mixture in the combustion chamber of the combustion engine is combusted in the presence of a fuel additive and, in the process, the fuel additive decomposes and the exhaust gas flow is guided through at least one catalyst arranged downstream of the combustion chamber. This method is characterized in that a fuel additive is used, which decomposes in the combustion chamber releasing ammonia and the exhaust gas flow containing ammonia is guided through at least one SCR catalyst arranged downstream of the combustion chamber to reduce the concentration of the nitrogen oxides contained therein. The method according to the invention is highly effective in reducing the nitrogen oxide content in the exhaust gas flow of a combustion engine without an exhaust gas aftertreatment system having to be expensively formed and the installation space having to be increased.
