A method of welding two work pieces that define a connecting zone between them is described. A friction pin is fed at a starting point into the connecting zone and into opposite regions of the work pieces on both sides of the connecting zone. The friction pin is moved in a welding direction along the connecting zone resulting in the work pieces being welded. The friction pin is led out of the connecting zone after welding the work pieces. The friction pin is fed into a sacrificial element while lifting the friction pin.

Method and apparatus for welding two work pieces

A burner for WIG-welding for a welding seam having a rod-shaped tungsten electrode with an electrode tip facing the welding seam, a welding wire guide and a protective-gas feed includes a coolant line connected to the electrode and formed of two adjacent channels extending as feed and discharge lines on mutually opposite sides of the electrode, the electrode tip projecting through a heat-resistant insulating cap overlapping ends of the coolant channels which face towards the electrode tip, and the protective-gas feed including protective-gas feed lines insulatedly fastened to a side of the coolant channels facing away from the electrode, the protective-gas feed lines having a region extending out of the insulating cap and formed with outlet openings directed towards the welding seam.

A device for overlay-welding a pipe interior having an arm extensible into the interior of a respective pipe, the arm carrying a welding head at a free end thereof includes a rotating device in the form of a wheel surrounding and supporting the pipe, and a swiveling device disposed in the wheel for moving the pipe in a circular arc about the center of the wheel and transversely to the plane of the wheel, the arm being curved and being secured to a part of the swiveling device connected to the wheel, the welding head being rotatable in the plane of the wheel for overlay-welding pipes formed at least partly with a bend therein.
