A process for producing an amorphous ductile brazing foil is provided. According to one example embodiment, the method includes providing a molten mass, and rapidly solidifying the molten mass on a moving cooling surface with a cooling speed of more than approximately 10&#xb0; C./sec to produce an amorphous ductile brazing foil. A process for joining two or more parts is also provided. The process includes inserting a brazing foil between two or more parts to be joined, wherein the parts to be joined have a higher melting temperature than that the brazing foil to form a solder joint and the brazing foil comprises an amorphous, ductile Ni-based brazing foil; heating the solder joint to a temperature above the liquidus temperature of the brazing foil to form a heated solder joint; and cooling the heated solder joint, thereby forming a brazed joint between the parts to be joined.

An amorphous, ductile brazing foil is provided. Disclosed are a braze, such as a braze in the form of an amorphous, ductile brazing foil, having a composition consisting essentially of FeNiSiBMwith 5 atomic percent&#x2266;a&#x2266;35 atomic percent, 1 atomic percent&#x2266;b&#x2266;15 atomic percent, 5 atomic percent&#x3c;c&#x2266;15 atomic percent, 0&#x2266;d&#x2266;4 atomic percent, rest Ni and incidental impurities, wherein M is one or more of the elements Co, Cr, Mn, Nb, Mo, Ta, Cu, Ag, Pd or C, and having a liquidus temperature T&#x2266;1025&#xb0; C. Nickel/iron-based braze and process for brazing

Magnet cores pressed using a powder of nanocrystalline or amorphous particles and a pressing additive should be characterized by minimal iron losses. These particles have first surfaces represented by the original strip surfaces and second surfaces represented by surfaces produced in a pulverization process, the overwhelming majority of these second particle surfaces being smooth cut or fracture surfaces without any plastic deformation, the proportion T of areas of plastic deformation of the second particle surfaces being 0&#x2266;T&#x2266;0.5.

Magnet core and method for its production

The invention proposes a brazing alloy, which can be produced in particular as a homogenous, ductile, amorphous brazing foil and consists of 2 to 20 atom % of nickel, 2 to 12 atom % of tin, 0.5 to 5.0 atom % of zinc, 6 to 16 atom % of phosphorus, remainder copper and incidental impurities. The total amount of copper, nickel, tin and zinc is between 80 and 95 atom %. The addition of more than 0.5 atom % of zinc produces excellent resistance to surface oxidation in air and/or atmospheric humidity. These brazing alloys can be used to produce excellent brazed joints.
