A hair styling device with a handle part, at least one heater part and two metallic molded parts that are preferably made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy and serve, in particular, for straightening, curling or waving hair. Hairs can be inserted between facing contact surfaces of the molded parts and the molded parts can be changed from an open state into a closed state. In order to ensure particularly good sliding properties for the hair, the invention proposes that the contact surfaces are at least regionally provided with an enamel coating.

Hair styling device

A hair-shaping appliance includes a hand-held portion, a hair-shaping element extending from the hand-held portion, an evaporator mounted within the shaping element, a tank mounted within the hair-shaping element in a moveable manner, a dosing device connected to the tank, and an actuating button connected to the tank. The actuating button and tank are connected such that movement of the actuating button displaces the tank along a longitudinal direction of the appliance (e.g., towards and away from the evaporator). In addition, the actuating button is positioned on the hand-held portion of the appliance and is positioned to allow single-handed operation.

Hair-care appliances such as curling tongs are provided. The hair care appliances include a heating device that is controlled in dependence on temperature by a thermostat adjacent to the heating device. The thermostat may be shielded thermally from the heating device by a partition wall.

A catalytic gas combustion device for an appliance for personal use with a gas supply device and a catalyst connected to the gas supply device is disclosed. To ignite the gas/air mixture and therefore to initiate catalytic combustion at the catalyst, an ignition device which can be controlled by an ignition system is provided. The gas supply device has a bypass for branching off part of a gas stream which flows onto the ignition device. In this way, the ignition system is actuated even shortly after the gas valve device is opened, and the catalyst is brought to its operating temperature as a result of the explosion of the gas/air mixture.

Catalytic gas combustion device for an appliance for personal use

Appliances for shaping hair are provided. The hair-shaping appliances may include, for example, (a) a forward and reverse stroke liquid dosing device; (b) a tubular drum constructed to contact the hair, the tubular drum having through-passages; and (c) an evaporating device comprising an evaporator chamber to which a liquid is delivered by the dosing device, the evaporating device being constructed to produce steam from the delivered liquid and to deliver the steam through the through-passages in the tubular drum to treat the hair. Excess liquid is removed from the evaporator chamber by a return stroke of the dosing device.

Steam styling tongs including an evaporating device which is supplied with heat by a heating device and comprises an evaporator surface in thermal contact with the heating device. Liquid evaporates on the evaporator surface into steam, which then passes into a steam-distributor chamber and, there, flows outward via through-passages. The heating device is formed in a combustion chamber of the drum, in which, during the heating operation, flame-free combustion of a gas takes place by means of a catalyst, of which the combustion gases pass out via outlets formed in the drum or in the combustion chamber. The combustion chamber and the steam-distributor chamber are formed by a common chamber. Means which prevent water from penetrating into the common chamber are also provided.

A hair styling appliance includes a handle portion, a heating portion for heating the hair, and a holding member (,), with the latter being movable into an open and a closed condition. The hair can be placed in between the heating portion and the holding member (,) for styling. A pressure member (,) for exerting a pressure force on the hair is arranged between the heating portion and the holding member (,).

The invention is directed to an electrically powered device for the treatment of hair, in particular for the styling and/or drying of hair. This device is equipped with a first adapter element, for example, a plug-and-socket element, for connecting, in particular electrically, the device with an additional electrically powered device for the treatment of hair, which includes a second adapter element. In this arrangement, the first and second adapter elements include differentiating elements, in particular geometrical differentiating features, which are designed such that exclusively two devices equipped with corresponding differentiating elements are connectable with each other. The two connectable devices may be a hair dryer and an additional implement for a hair dryer, for example.

Electrically powered device for treatment of hair

The invention is directed to a hair styling appliance and a method of styling hair, using in particular the hair styling appliance. The hair styling appliance is comprised of a handle portion, a heating portion (6) for heating the hair, and a pressure-generating clamp (8) for the generation of a contact pressure acting on the hair to be styled, the hair being adapted to be introduced between the heating portion (6) and the pressure-generating clamp (8). In this arrangement, a styling edge (10) is provided in the area of the heating portion (6) and/or the pressure-generating clamp (8) of the appliance, which styling edge has a cross-section of arcuate, in particular circular-arc shape, of polygonal or similar shape.

Styling appliance and method of styling hair

The invention is directed to an implement for the treatment of hair, particularly for the styling and/or drying of hair, which is adapted to be connected with the air exit end of a personal-care appliance through which air flows, in particular of a hair dryer or a hot-air curling brush. The implement is comprised of a main body and at least one active body movable relative to the main body, for example a supporting structure carrying several hair pick-up elements. An electric drive mechanism, in particular an electric motor, is provided on the implement for moving the active body.

Implement for the treatment of hair

The invention is directed to a gas-heatable appliance for personal use as, for example, a curling iron, a curling brush, a hair dryer, an epilating appliance, a domestic appliance, or the like, including a fuel gas reservoir, a combustion chamber, and a valve assembly disposed between the fuel gas reservoir and the combustion chamber for controlling and/or regulating the amount of fuel gas supplied, in particular in dependence upon temperature. There are further provided a valve housing (4) with a gas passageway (5, 15, 16) and a sealing element (6) associated with the gas passageway (5, 15, 16), as well as an actuator (7) for actuating the sealing element (6). The element is configured as a control member actuatable by a user and/or as a temperature-responsive actuator (7). In this arrangement, the sealing element (6) is actuated directly by the actuator (7).

The invention is directed to an air directing device for a hair dryer for acting upon the air stream exiting from the hair dryer, in which an air directing member (10) is configured as a substantially tubular body (12) having an inlet opening (14) and an outlet area (16) for the air. The air outlet area (16) comprises a plurality of individual orifices (18) configured and positioned such that the exiting air stream is split into a plurality of substantially independent free jets.

The invention is directed to a hair styling implement adapted to be attached to an air outlet opening of a hair dryer and equipped with a housing and a plurality of hair pickup elements and an adjusting element that is movable relative to the housing. In this arrangement, at least one locking member is provided which is adapted to be located in at least two positions; in a first position, the adjusting member is lockable with the housing, and in a second position in which the hair styling implement is attached to the dryer, the housing is lockable with the hair dryer.

An electric curling iron has a handle and unitary curling structure with first and second elongated generally aligned oppositely extending shell sections aligned oppositely extending shell section. Each section is provided with a separate PTC resistance heating element and the two shell sections have different diameters and/or different bristles and/or at least one hair clamping arm. The handle is adapted to be selectively slipped onto either of the two shell sections, whereby at the same time an electrical connection is established between the heating element in the other shell section and an electrical power supply on the handle.
