Modified plastic surfaces with perfluoropolymers are provided, whereby plastic surfaces that are intended for use under tribological conditions have substantially improved assembly properties and/or sliding friction properties and exhibit a very low degree of wear. Accordingly, modified plastic surfaces with perfluoropolymers are provided in which modified perfluoropolymer (micro)powders are present at the surface of plastics that comprise olefinically unsaturated double bonds at least at the surface such that the modified perfluoropolymer (micro)powders are chemically covalently bonded via a radical coupling of the olefinically unsaturated double bonds with perfluoropolymer (peroxy) radicals of the modified perfluoropolymer (micro)powders after a reactive conversion under mechanical stress at room temperature.

Modified plastic surfaces with perfluoropolymers are provided, whereby plastic surfaces that are intended for use under tribological conditions have substantially improved assembly properties and/or sliding friction properties and exhibit a very low degree of wear. Accordingly, modified plastic surfaces with perfluoropolymers are provided in which, after a reactive conversion under mechanical stress at room temperature, at least the reactive &#x2014;NH groups and/or &#x2014;OH groups present at the surface of plastics are present in a chemically covalently coupled manner with the perfluoropolymer carboxylic acid halide present at least in the surface-proximate region of modified perfluoropolymer (micro)powders and/or with the grafted (meth)acrylic acid halide present via perfluoropolymer (peroxy) radicals of the perfluoropolymer (micro)powders and/or (meth)acrylic acid that has been modified into (meth)acrylic acid halide before the reactive conversion.

Radically coupled PTFE polymer powder and method for the production thereof

The invention relates to the field of chemistry and relates to long-term stable oil PTFE dispersions, such as can be used, for example, in transmissions or bearings, and a method for the production thereof. The object of the present invention is therefore to disclose a long-term stable oil PTFE dispersion as well as a simple and cost-effective method for the production thereof. The object is attained with an oil PTFE dispersion comprising PTFE particles and a monoolefinically or polyolefinically unsaturated oil, wherein molecules of the olefinically unsaturated oil are covalently/chemically coupled to PTFE (primary) particle surfaces via radical reactions, and wherein a permanent charge separation between the PTFE particle surfaces and the coupled oil molecules is present and a fine dispersion of the PTFE particles in the oil or oil mixture is present. The object is furthermore attained through a method in which the modified PTFE (emulsion) polymers are mixed with persistent perfluoro (peroxy) radicals jointly with an olefinically unsaturated oil and subsequently the modified PTFE (emulsion) polymers are subjected to a mechanical stress.

Hydrophobic permanent coatings on substrates and methods for production thereof

The invention is used in the fields of chemistry and relates to hardenable materials which can be used for producing lacquers. The aim of the invention is to provide materials which harden at low temperatures in the same amount of time as the others. This is achieved by using hardenable materials containing uretdione groups and containing (A) a binding agent constituent, whereby this component either (A1) does not contain carboxyl groups, or (A2) the concentration of carboxyl groups is less than that of the catalyst (C) or (A3) in the case of a high level of concentration, a quantity of a reactive agent is added. The hardenable materials also contain (B) a polyaddition compound which comprises uretdione groups, and (C) at least one Lewis acid catalyst. The aim of the invention is also achieved using a method for producing materials of this type in which the starting materials are homogenized in a solution and/or in a melt, the solution and/or melt is then rapidly cooled, and the subsequent processing is carried out afterwards to effect a complete cross-linking.

A polyurethane and/or polyurethane urea elastomer in the form of a thermostable processable melt, which is immediately processable or which, after cooling and storing, can be remelted and processed. The elastomer is produced by a polyaddition or build-up reaction of longer chain diols with diisocyanate, chain extenders and a polar gelling and/or melting aid for the formation of the thermostable processable melt. A method for manufacturing a polyurethane and/or polyurethane-urea elastomer in the form of a thermally stable processable melt which may be processed immediately or after cooling and storage, being remeltable and reprocessable. The method comprises the steps of: converting n-Mol of a polymeric diol to form a prepolymer with about 1.1 to about 10.0 n-Mol of a diisocyanate at about 50.degree. C. to about 150.degree. C.; adding to the prepolymer between about 1% to about 25% by mass, relative to the prepolymer, of: a polar gel and/or melt auxiliary agent selected from the group consisting of open-chain protic-carboxylic acid amide compounds, cyclic protic carboxylic acid amide compounds and mixtures thereof; and a chain lengthener to form a polymer; heating the polymer to between about 120.degree. C. and about 230.degree. C.; and cooling the polymer.
