A technique is provided that addresses how to provide secured communication in a power distribution communication network. Specifically, upon receipt of a request for an insertion of a new device to the power distribution communication network, checking a unique identifier of the new device received in the request against a list of stored new devices or suppliers stored in a data storage. Upon finding a matching entry, evaluating a predetermined device or supplier certificate against a certificate of the new device received in the request. Upon validation of the received certificate, checking to determine if the new device will fit into a predetermined network topology or relation table that indicates which messages are authorized messages. Configuring the power distribution communication network to include the new device in case the new device fits into the predetermined network topology or the relation table.

An exemplary method and apparatus are provided for operating a power grid that has decentralized control elements. The decentralized control elements are adapted to interact with each other, in particular by communication. At least a part of the power grid, a control element or the interaction between control elements, in particular the communication between control elements, is monitored. When a problem in at least a part of the power grid, the control element or the interaction between control elements, in particular a communication breakdown, is detected, a control element affected by the problem is triggered to work autonomously.

A method for establishing a digital communication link between an originating subscriber terminal and at least one called subscriber terminal, said method being better adapted to the transmission bandwidth used by a subscriber, has the following steps: First, a provisional link at a standard transmission rate from the originating subscriber terminal to the called subscriber is requested from a switching center. That provisional link is then established by the switching center. Next, a new, lower value for the transmission rate is selected by the originating subscriber terminal. That new value is then agreed upon with the switching center. There is known a telecommunication terminal with a miniature display for received, visually perceptible information, such as, for example, fax messages. In addition, a device is known for projecting computer images or TV images, the device comprising a so-called DMD chip (Digital Mirror Device). It is proposed to improve the aforedescribed telecommunication terminal (MS) by providing the terminal with projection means (DMD, FL) which can basically only be used for the device described above. In addition, the device described above is improved by being provided with an interface circuit for connection to a telecommunication terminal. Accordingly, the conventional means known in the field of computer technology and TV technology for projecting images are now used in or for a telecommunication terminal, especially in a mobile radio telephone (MS). With the received image data, images can be projected directly onto a projection screen, for example, onto a wall. Several people can view the images simultaneously. An output device, such as, for example, a printer for fax messages, is not required.
