The disclosure relates to a circuit arrangement for preventing overloading of magneto-inductive flowmeters. The disclosure can protect the amplifiers which are connected downstream thereof or the electronic evaluation system from overloading. To this end, the signal input circuit is provided with additional voltage-limiting diodes disposed downstream of the impedance converters so that eventual voltage tips are prevented during modulation in the downstream amplifiers of the evaluation electronics.

The invention relates to a method for operating a measuring device, especially a flowmeter. The aim of the invention is to simplify inspection if the sensors have been correctly installed. For this purpose, the installation state is detected by the sensors themselves, i.e. by sensing a corresponding sensor value and comparing it with characteristic data. The result of comparison is electronically evaluated and automatically estimated whether the characteristic data obtained match the comparative data within at least a defined tolerance.

A vortex flowmeter is disclosed, which includes, among other features, a closed measuring tube, through which a flowable medium that is to be quantitatively measured flows, the medium flowing against a disturbing element that is arranged in the measuring tube. A vibration sensor is arranged downstream in the direction of flow detecting the vortex frequency generated by the disturbing element. An electronic evaluation unit is disposed downstream of the vibration sensor converting it into an electric signal corresponding to the quantitative flow rate or volumetric flow rate. The relative position can be changed between the measuring tube and the disturbing element and/or the measuring tube and the vibration sensor in a signal-optimizing manner.

The vortex flow meter provides a surface which is simple but nevertheless resistant to the substances to be measured. All parts of the measurement tube of the vortex flow meter which come in contact with the substance to be measured are coated with a less noble material, which is resistant to the respectively relevant substance to be measured, the basic material not having this resistance.

A method and device for obtaining an interference free measurement from a flowmeter. The flowmeter includes a measuring tube through which a flowable medium flows through a magnetic field generated by a magnetic arrangement and at least two measuring electrodes for detecting the measurement voltage induced by the flowable medium. The medium gives rise to interference voltages. The electrodes are connected to an interference-voltage eliminating unit by which common-mode interference is first eliminated by differentiation and unequal interference voltages are subsequently eliminated. In operation, the current voltage value U+(n) and U&#x2212;(n) of each individual measuring electrode is compared with the associated preceding voltage value U+(n&#x2212;1) and U&#x2212;(n&#x2212;1), and the interference-voltage eliminating unit outputs a measurement for further signal processing only when an equal, essentially proportional change in the voltage values U+(n) to U+(n&#x2212;1) and U&#x2212;(n) to U&#x2212;(n&#x2212;1) is found at each measuring electrode, which is evaluated as interference-free measurement.

The invention relates to a magnetic-inductive measuring device for flowing substances with at least one subsystem respectively for carrying the substances, recording measuring signals through a signal pickup, generating a magnetic field through at least two exciting coils and a ferromagnetic core and bounding the measuring device on the ambient side of the housing. The measuring device is characterized in that at least one of the subsystems is entirely or partly formed by layers of fibre composite material and/or is embedded in layers of fibre composite material.
