An ultrasonic transducer having a pot-like casing has an outer bottom face which is designed in part as a vibrating diaphragm. A stabilizing ring is arranged on the outside of the wall of the pot-like casing, imparting a greater rigidity to the casing and limiting the ultrasonic vibration essentially to the bottom of the pot as a vibrating diaphragm. The propagation and reception beams of the ultrasonic waves can be shaped further by an additional arrangement of a sound directing device in the area of the vibrating diaphragm.

Ultrasonic transducer

An ultrasonic transducer has a pot-like housing with an annular wall and with a bottom surface serving as diaphragm. A piezo-element which is connected with connection lines is arranged at the inner side of the bottom surface. The edge remote of the bottom surface is surrounded by a decoupling ring which is formed as a holder for the connection lines.

An arrangement having a module for installation in a bumper of a motor vehicle and having a retaining part for attaching the module to the bumper. The retaining part, in this context, is fixedly attached on the interior side of the bumper blade, so that the module can be inserted from the interior side. Provision is made in the bumper for a corresponding bore, through which the head piece of the module can be plugged in until the surface is roughly flush with the exterior surface of the bumper. As the module, an ultrasonic sensor is preferably proposed, which can be used for measuring distance in a motor vehicle. Since only the head piece of the module is visible from the outside but not its attachment parts, the resulting appearance is particularly advantageous since it is not disruptive from a design point of view.

Modular device to be inserted into a vehicle bumper

The electrical unit has a printed circuit board (,) supporting the circuit, which includes a power component (,) which generates heat. In order to dissipate this heat from the power component, the power component rests on a heat conductive layer (,) which in turn is applied to the upper side (,) of the printed circuit board. This heat conductive layer further has a portion of the lid (,) of the housing resting on it, which serves as a cooling area. Alternatively, the cooling area can be a free-standing cooling element. The heat transfer thus takes place via the heat conductive layer (,) to the cooling element (,) so that the latter may be applied and formed independently of type and form of the power component.

In a control device the printed circuit board (,) rests on a rim (,) of the housing bottom (,). The power components (,) to be cooled are arranged in the area where the printed circuit board (,) rests on the rim (,). In order to achieve an even contact pressure of the printed circuit board (,) over the entire support surface, a contact pressure on the power component (,) or on the printed circuit board (,) is generated with the help of additional aids. It is possible here to use spring elements (,) or elastomer strips (,) acting on the power component (,). Furthermore, multi-part support elements (,), or respectively plastic elements (,) can also be employed, which respectively act directly on the printed circuit board (,). A good heat dissipation from the power component (,) via the rim (,) of the housing bottom is possible by means of this.

A device, in particular for use in an electronic controller, includes a card rack and a subassembly. The device is manufactured by soldering over a large area the unpopulated back side of the subassembly to this card rack. The soldering can be performed using a reflow soldering process and can be automated, and thus suitable for mass production. The electrical connections of the subassembly are led spatially and electrically separately from the mechanical attachment of the subassembly to the card rack. The subassembly can be an additional component mounted on the card rack with a new additional function, so that the controller can be flexibly adapted to a given requirement profile in a simple manner by combining, in a flexible manner, a plurality of subassemblies with different layouts and modes of operation on the card rack.

Device for using in an electronic controller

The housing (10) of an electrical device, in particular a switching and control device for motor vehicles, includes an upper shell (11) and a lower shell (12), and PC boards (15, 25) are located in both shells (11, 12). The required power components (17) are distributed to both PC boards (15, 25). The lower shell (11) of the housing (10) has side walls (16) encompassing three sides. The upper shell (11) has, in addition to the outer rim (21) extending around three sides, a protrusion (22) protruding into the housing on two opposed sides, so that a space (23) is created between the rim (21) and the extension (22). In the assembled state, the side wall (16) protrudes into the space (23) in the other shell (12). The power components (17) rest on the inner wall of the side wall (16) or of the extensions (22), so that the lost heat can be dissipated in a simple way.

Multi-board electrical control device

In order to provide protection against disruptive radiation and achieve good conduction of heat, a housing for control devices which has multiple parts is provided with a printed circuit board carrying power components and control elements with a peripherally extending lining of electrically and thermally conducting material. The printed circuit board is clamped between the housing halves in the region of the linings. The power components are contacted by the lining so as to be thermally conducting, while control elements which give off intensive disruptive radiation or are sensitive to such radiation are enclosed within connecting pieces projecting from the walls of the housing parts.

A spring element, for securing components of an electronic control device, is essentially U-shaped, with a bridge portion (16), which rests on an end (11A) of a cooling fin (11) mounted perpendicularly on a printed circuit board (13), and a pair of depending spring legs (17, 18), one of which presses against a side face (11C) of the cooling fin (11) and the other of which presses a power component (14) against a major surface (11B) of the cooling fin (11). Preferably, the spring element (15, 15A) is formed with a pair of slots (23, 24) which facilitate engagement by a pair of tongs (25, 26) of an automatic mounting device. The tongs can spread open the spring element and position it around the cooling fin (11) and power component (14) without exerting any harmful shear forces on the fin or component. Preferably, each spring leg has a convex central section, below the slot, and a concave bottom or terminal end. Optionally, the inner surface of the terminal end (21A, 22A) is formed with a claw or tooth (27, 28) for better holding.

A housing for an electronic circuit, especially for a control electronic device of a motor vehicle, has a printed circuit board adapted to carry an electronic circuit, a plug strip, a front plate, a cooling frame mounted on the board and having at least one cooling portion, power elements connected with the cooling portion in a heat conductive manner. The front plate is provided with cooling ribs and the cooling frame is provided with at least one cooling leg facing toward the plug strip so that the plug strip is located between the front plate with the cooling ribs and the cooling leg of the cooling frame. The front plate and the cooling frame are connected through a heat conducting web on the front plate in a heat conducting manner.
