The present invention relates to a method for determining the oscillation amplitude of a sonotrode excited by a converter, wherein the converter is connected to a current generator and the current I(t) provided by the current generator and flowing through the converter is measured. According to the invention, in order to provide a method for determining the oscillation amplitude of a sonotrode excited by a converter, the voltage U(t) applied to the converter by the current generator is measured and the oscillation amplitude of the sonotorode or a field quantity of the electrical oscillation system comprising the current generator and the converter, said field quantity being related to the oscillation amplitude of the sonotrode, is calculated from the measured voltage U(t) and from the measured current I(t).

Ultrasonic welding device with rotary coupler

An optoelectronic interconnection system is for use in optical communications. The optoelectronic interconnection system may include a substrate having a main portion and a foldable portion formed on a substrate of a board for positioning an optically active device connected to the foldable portion. The foldable portion is adapted to be folded with respect to the main portion into a desired optical coupling orientation for which an optical operative axis (OA) of the optically active device arranged therein is substantially aligned with an optical transmission axis (TT') that is other than perpendicular to the main portion. A holding fixture holds the foldable portion in the desired optical coupling orientation.

Optoelectronic interconnection system

A switched mode amplifier includes a voltage source, a switched amplifier, a controller and a feedback unit. The switched amplifier sources or sinks a current to or from a load. The load and the current define a voltage over the load. The controller generates control signals for the switched amplifier in response to an input signal and a feedback signal. The feedback unit is connected to the controller and the load, and generates the feedback signal from the voltage over the load.

Switched mode amplifier

A system for transmitting a plurality of independent data signals between two modules connected to a communication link is provided. The communication link may be a two lead wired connection. A first data signal may be transmitted in form of a differential signal over the communication link. A second data signal may be transmitted between both connected modules by adding the second data signal identically to both leads of the communication link.
