Various embodiments of a gas storage and supply system and its operation processes having pre-selected temperature and pressure limits are disclosed. Various temperature and pressure profiles may be used to supply stored gas to a gas consuming device.

Method of operating gas storage and supply system

A process for producing borazane from boron-nitrogen and boron-nitrogen-hydrogen containing BNH-waste products. The process includes reacting the BNH-waste products with a hydrogen halide, having the formula HX, wherein X is selected from the group consisting of F, Cl, Br, I, and combinations thereof, to form any of the following: a boron trihalide, having the formula BX, an ammonium halide, having the formula NHX, and hydrogen. The boron trihalide is then reacted with the hydrogen to form diborane, having the formula BH, and hydrogen halide. The ammonium halide is then converted to ammonia, having the formula NH, and hydrogen halide. The diborane is then reacted with the ammonia to form borazane, having the formula BHNH.

Procedure for the hydrogenation of BNH-containing compounds

A gas storage system that stores a gas by cryo-adsorption on high surface materials. The gas storage system includes an outer container having insulated walls and a plurality of pressure vessels disposed therein. Each of the pressure vessels includes a high surface material. A manifold assembly distributes the gas under pressure to the pressure vessels where the gas is adsorbed by cryo-adsorption using the high surface materials. A cooling fluid is provided within voids between the pressure vessels to remove heat as the pressure vessels are being filled with the gas.

A cryogenic gas storage system for optimal desorption of adsorbed gases, wherein a gas storage material is subjected to enhanced, ample selected recirculation of gas of the same type as the adsorbed gas, at suitable temperature and pressure, so as to supply of heat energy to the material and thereby provide optimal desorption of the gas. Output gas is heated by ambient heat or dissipation heat utilizing at least one heat exchanger. A portion of the output gas goes to a gas consumer, the remainder is fed back to the container.

Fuel supply system with a gas adsorption device

An apparatus for selectively adsorbing gas during adsorption processes and desorbing gas during desorption processes. A tube has a porous sidewall, and at each end is an end-fitting sealingly connected thereto. A particulate porous gas storage material is located within the tube, wherein the porosity prevents the material, but allows gases, to pass therethrough. A selected gas from a porous inner tube, a heating coil, or a heat exchanger located within the tube may provide heat for the desorption processes, and the selected gas or heat exchanger may provide cooling during the adsorption processes.

Apparatus for optimal adsorption and desorption of gases utilizing highly porous gas storage materials

Thermal insulation with a double walled housing in which the space between the housing walls is evacuated and filled with insulating material and feedthroughs are provided between the interior of the housing and the outer area. The closure area of the housing is free of feedthroughs, and each boundary wall of each feedthrough is mechanically extended and connected vacuum tight to the housing walls.

Storage cell connection for at least two storage cells based on alkali metal and chalcogen with each cell having at least one anode space and a cathode space which are separated from each other by an alkali ion-conducting solid electrolyte and are bounded at least in some regions by a metallic housing, as well as are provided with at least one first and one second connecting element. At least one fastening element is provided on the surface of the housing, by means of which fastening element the first connecting element of the first storage cell can be locked, together with a second connecting element of the second storage cell on this surface. The second connecting element of the first storage cell is likewise designed for the detachable connection to the fastening element of a third storage cell.

Storage cell connection

Electrochemical storage cell with at least one anode space and a cathode space separated from each other by an alkali-ion-conducting solid electrolyte and bounded at least in some areas by a housing. The housing is bounded on its inside by an inner housing element and on its outside by an outer housing element. The inner housing element acts as the current collector and embraces the two reactant spaces. The outer housing element assumes a support function and is arranged on all sides around the inner housing element in the manner of an enclosure. Preferably, the outer housing element is a tubular enclosure with two discs forming the end faces of the storage cell. The inner housing element is preferably made of aluminum and is provided with corrosion protection. The outer housing element can be made of a heat-resistant steel or an organic or inorganic material.

Electrochemical storage cell based on alkali metal and chalcogen with an anodic space and a cathodic space which are separated from each other by an alkali ion-conducting solid electrolyte and are limited at least areawise by a metallic housing, and ceramic structural elements connected with metallic structural elements by thermocompression. The metallic structural elements connected with ceramic structural elements by thermocompression are very thin-walled at least in the joint region and are supported at least areawise by a reinforcement element of a metallic or non-metallic material.

High-temperature storage battery with at least two or more storage cells of the alkali metal and chalcogen type, with each cell bounded by a metallic housing, and wherein a defined number of storage cells forming a module are combined. The housing of each storage cell is formed by at least two concentrically arranged housing elements, which are separated from each other by electrical insulation, and the storage cells of each module are arranged in a defined manner, and adjacent storage cells are connected to each other at least in some regions via their outer housing elements.

High-temperature storage battery

Thermal insulation with at least one evacuated space, within which several layers of a non-metallic material are arranged. Between two respective successive layers, an intermediate layer serving as a spacer is arranged. The layers forming the insulating material consist preferably of mica paper. The intermediate layers are formed by layers of fiberglass fabric or mica powder. Glass or ceramic fiber paper may also be used for forming the intermediate layers.

High-temperature battery with at least one electrochemical storage cell which is surrounded by thermal insulation as well as by feed and discharge lines for the cooling air. At least one module which can be inserted into the high-temperature battery, contains the storage cells. The module has a feedline for cooling air and a discharge for the cooling air which are arranged so that the cooling air can be introduced into the module against the force of gravity and discharged from the module with the force of gravity.
