A fastening device is disclosed. The fastening device has a housing having a receptacle that receives a coupler of an operating table device and a locking member connected to the housing and movable relative to the housing between a locked position and an unlocked position. The locking member retains the coupler in the receptacle in the locked position, and the locking member releases the coupler from the receptacle in the unlocked position. The fastening device also has a resilient member that urges the locking member toward the locked position, an actuation member that moves the locking member from the locked position to the unlocked position, and a ratchet assembly that maintains the locking member in the unlocked position.

Surgical instruments are provided for performing laparoscopic or similar minimally invasive operations, including two clamping parts, which can move towards one another and which have clamping surfaces for gripping tissue when they are closed. A cutting device has a cutting edge that, in a cutting direction, can be displaced relative to the clamping parts for cutting the gripped tissue. In such an instrument the cutting direction extends at an acute angle to the clamping surfaces when they are closed.

Surgical instrument

Electrosurgical forceps for efficiently severing of hollow organs, in particular vessels. The electrosurgical forceps have a first branch and a second branch for gripping the hollow organ. The forceps have at least one neutral electrode on the second branch, at least one first coagulation electrode and a second coagulation electrode that is disposed on the first branch for applying a first HF current by means of the coagulation electrode, and at least one cutting device, which is arranged between the coagulation electrodes in order to sever the hollow organ in a cutting region. The cutting device has a cutting electrode for applying a second HF current between the cutting and neutral electrodes. The coagulation electrodes are arranged spaced apart from one another in such a way that the first HF current does not flow through or only a minor amount of the same flows through the cutting region.

Electrosurgical instrument

The present application relates to a tubular shaft instrument for separating tissue. The invention relates to a tubular shaft instrument that results in a more reliable, cleaner separation of tissue. To achieve this, in contrast to conventional cutting devices, the blade is not displaced through the fixed tissue, but glides over the latter until a complete separation is ascertained.

Tubular shaft instrument

The invention relates to tubular shaft instruments, which are provided with a handle, a tubular shaft and a tool head. The tool head usually has two mouth parts, which can be displaced in relation to one another for gripping and fixing tissue. The invention discloses a slotted guide system for forming the articulation, said system having a virtual fulcrum outside the tubular shaft instrument.

The invention relates to an electrosurgical instrument for cutting and/or coagulating a tissue to be treated, comprising at least one cutting electrode for conducting a high-frequency ('HF') current through the tissue for carrying out a cutting process and comprising power supply devices for supplying the HF current at least to the cutting electrode. The design of the electrosurgical instrument is improved so that the cutting process can be carried out with an increased reliability while prolonging the serviceable life of the cutting electrode at the same time. To this end, the cutting electrode is mounted on the electrosurgical instrument in a manner that enables it to rotate about a rotation axis and comprises at least one cutting area which is provided in the form of a helical curve or similar three-dimensional curve running around the rotation axis and which is arranged in such a manner that when the cutting electrode rotates about the rotation axis it is active over its length in sections on the tissue when a section falls below a defined minimum distance from the tissue and/or is located within a defined window area.

The invention concerns an electrosurgical instrument comprising two articulated limbs, which can be actuated in the manner of a cutting or a clamping tool. The instrument further comprises opposing electrode parts with coagulating surfaces at the distal ends of the limbs for grasping a vessel or tissue and for conducting a coagulating current through the vessel or tissue in order to cause it to coagulate, as well as current-supplying devices for supplying the coagulating current to the electrode parts from a HF generator. In addition, the electrode parts each have at least one clamping region, such that clamped tissue is pretensioned between the electrode parts in order that a cutting procedure can be carried out on the pretensioned tissue by means of a cutting instrument.

The invention relates to an electrosurgical instrument comprising two limbs that have an articulated connection and that can be actuated in the manner of a cutting or clamping tool. The instrument includes opposing electrode parts with coagulation surfaces on distal ends of its limbs for holding a vessel or tissue and for passing a current through said vessel or tissue to coagulate the latter and also current supply devices that supply the coagulation current from a high-frequency generator to the electrode parts. One of the coagulation surfaces is convex, at least in a first central section, and the opposing coagulation surface is concave, at least in a second central section. The radius of curvature of the concave coagulation surface is greater, at least in the second central section, than the radius of curvature of the convex coagulation surface in the first central section. The curvatures run along longitudinal axes of the distal ends in such a way that a vessel or tissue that is held between the distal ends runs perpendicularly to the longitudinal axes and is retained with a pressure that increases towards the first and second central sections.

The invention relates to an electrosurgical instrument comprising two limbs that have an articulated connection and that can be actuated in the manner of a cutting or a clamping tool. At least one electrode part has an open region that acts as a guide gap for a cutting instrument, so that the electrode part(s) is/are divided into at least two areas and the cutting instrument can be applied to the clamped vessel or tissue to execute a cutting operation. In addition, current supply devices supply the coagulation current from a high-frequency generator to the electrode parts. The improved configuration of said electrosurgical instrument allows the open region on the electrode part(s) to afford optimal guidance of a cutting instrument, whereby said open region can be easily prepared for additional cutting operations and/ or be subjected to an after-treatment. To achieve this, the two or more open regions of the electrode part(s) comprise respective opposing separation surfaces that taper in the direction of the coagulation surfaces.
