A spring control arm for a wheel suspension of a motor vehicle is formed as a single-shell, essentially U-shaped sheet metal part and includes a back, spaced-apart side walls adjoining the back and each having an upper side wall region connected to the back, a lower side wall region distal from the back, and a central side wall region arranged between the upper and lower side wall regions. The spring control arm has first and a second end sections for attachment and a wider spring plate region disposed therebetween. The spring control arm has a substantially omega-shaped cross section in the spring plate region, which is more pronounced in a central longitudinal section due to outwardly projecting upper side wall sections than in an end longitudinal section of the spring plate region.

A body connection and a method of manufacturing the body connection is disclosed. A body connecting sleeve is formed in two parts from a spacer sleeve arranged in an axle auxiliary frame and from a body connecting sleeve which is coupled only to the upper shell of the axle auxiliary frame and substantially corresponds to the length of the centering extension. The body connecting sleeve is coupled exclusively in a form-fitting manner to the upper shell.

The invention relates to a method for producing a torsional profile from a blank. The torsional profile has torsionally rigid tubular end sections, a torsionally flexible U-shaped middle longitudinal section and, between the middle longitudinal section and the end sections, transition sections which change from the U-shaped cross section to the tubular cross section.

In a method of making through-passages in a perforated U-shaped sheet metal part, an inner core is positioned between confronting legs of the sheet metal part in an area of holes, and a support bar is inserted through one hole into the sheet metal part for support of a backside of the inner core. A shaping punch is inserted through another opposite hole into the inner core, thereby forming an inwardly directed collar. After retracting the support bar and the shaping punch and transferring the sheet metal part to replace the first inner core with a second inner core, a centering bar is inserted through the collared hole into the sheet metal part to center the sheet metal part in relation to the centering bar and to support a backside of the other inner core. A further shaping punch is then inserted into the second inner core through the first hole, thereby forming an inwardly directed collar so that the two collars are aligned and form through-passages.
