A pneumatic drive unit is provided for partially opening a vehicle body part such as a trunk lid. The pneumatic drive unit includes a working chamber which in use applies pressure to move a control member which engages a contact surface of the vehicle body part. A vent channel is provided which selectively connects the working chamber with the atmosphere as a function of the position of a movable closing element of the drive unit element and contact of the control member with the vehicle body part such that when the body part is closed after a partial opening, the drive unit is ready for another control operation.

Apparatus for controlling and adjusting an arbitrary number of adjustment units for a motor vehicle includes an electro-pneumatic bus to which are connected in arbitrary sequence, both electrically and pneumatically, all the pertinent adjusting units. The electro-pneumatic bus is composed of at least one pneumatic adjustment pressure line and of at least one electric control signal line which may contain several conductors. While reference data from a central control electronics are applied through the electric control signal line of the electro-pneumatic bus, the individual adjusting units are connected through associated valves in the pneumatic system to the pneumatic adjustment pressure line of the electro-pneumatic bus. The adjusting units preferably are designed to be modular control loops. As a result the pneumatically driven adjusting members units not only two positions, but also they may be set and controlled in quasi-analogue manner.

An inflatable child seat includes at least two air chambers. The child seat is foldable when the at least two air chambers have been evacuated to form a suitcase like body. A releasable fastener is provided for fixing the child seat in its folded position. One half of the suitcase-like body forms an air chamber representing an inflatable cushion and the other half contains air chambers forming side parts, a backrest, a head restraint and a tray of the child seat.

An actuating drive for installation in a body of a motor vehicle, from whose housing an actuator guided therein can be retracted and extended through an exit opening. A mount is provided for attaching the housing to the body with the exit opening of the attached housing being supported at the edge on an edge of a body opening that can likewise be penetrated by the actuator. According to the invention, the housing is guided so as to be displaceable with respect to the mount to and fro along a displacement axis in the direction of movement of the actuator. A clamping device is provided for displacing the housing with respect to the mount along the displacement axis, by means of which the housing, which is supported on one side at least indirectly on the mount, can be clamped on the other side against the edge of the body opening.

An apparatus for supporting the simultaneous establishment a plurality of parallel, fluid plug connections, contains a holding plate having apertures arranged in at least one straight row to receive junction pieces of fluid lines which are provided with abutments, and a securing slide which can be guided displaceably along one slide direction in the holding plate and has at least one contour which, by displacing the securing slide, can be brought into a position fastening the junction pieces in the apertures. The openings in the holding plate are of non-round constuction such that, after their axial insertion and transverse displacement, the abutments of the junction pieces can be fixed axially with positive fit, at least provisionally, on one edge of the respective aperture. The at least one contour fastening the junction pieces is of straight construction parallel to the slide direction of the securing slide so that the junction pieces can be fastened laterally within the non-round apertures in the position, in which their abutments are in engagement with the edge, by means of the at least one contour of the securing slide. The contour is straight and extends with respect to the edge on the side of the junction pieces facing away from the edge. The securing slide can be displaced relative to the holding plate while maintaining the fastening of the junction pieces. This can be used in an advantageous manner for the arrangement of connection elements for the joint attachment of the holding plate and securing slide on a component, which is to be contacted fluidically with all the junction pieces at the same time, solely in the securing slide.

A pneumatic central locking system for doors and/or lids in motor vehicles, with a pneumatic operating or locking element being provided for each lock mechanism of the doors and/or lids so as to enable the same to be locked and unlocked. An electrically drivable air pump is connectible with the locking elements by a line system and a selector valve is disposed at an outlet side of the air pump. The selector valve acts upon the line system and/or the locking elements in a desirable manner by means of an additional pneumatic operating or switching element connected fluidically in parallel at the locking elements. A response pressure of the switch element is higher than that of the locking elements. At least one lock mechanism contains a key operable first selector switch, with a second selector switch which may be operated by the switching element. Both of these selector switches are connected by power leads to the electric drive for the air pump and are connected electrically in series with one another in such a fashion that when the central locking system is in a steady state, the power to the electric drive is interrupted. In addition to a pressure dependent actuation of the second selector switch, the switching element also provides an additional operating drive for the second selector switch which responds as a function of time.

Pneumatic central locking system

A control valve for controlling a routing of a pressure medium in pneumatic conduits, especially those in motor vehicles, wherein the control valve includes a housing provided with a cylindrical recess and a control slide guided in the cylindrical recess in a longitudinally-displaceable fashion. A gasket or sealing arrangement is provided by means of which a central pneumatic conduit is alternatingly connected, after an operating stroke of the control slide, to a pneumatic conduit lying to the left and to the right of the central pneumatic conduit. The control valve further includes an operating sleeve longitudinally displaceable between two compression springs supported on the control slide and between two detent locations. The operating sleeve is arranged on the control slide in such a way that, upon operation of the operating sleeve, the control slide is braked as soon as sealing elements of the sealing arrangement abut against respective opposite valve seat surfaces. The operating sleeve during a further stroke, upon exceeding a specific resistance, is disengaged from one detent location and, upon further axial displacement, engages into the other detent location against the force or strength of one of the compression springs.
