A dispensing cap unit for use on a liquid container which permits a smooth flow of liquid out of the container when the container is rapidly inverted. The dispensing cap unit includes an air vent passage located inside the outer wall of the unit and is separated from the liquid flow path by a partition wall which terminates short of the lower end of the outer wall. A baffle element extends across the air vent passage adjacent to the end of the partition wall to define, with the end of the partition wall, an air vent passage outlet port which is oriented so that liquid is not likely to flow into the air vent passage via the air vent passage outlet port.

A flex hinge closure with a drain-back channel includes a base portion having a dispensing aperture, a raised pour lip formed along a perimeter of the dispensing aperture, a raised rib forming a closed shape surrounding the raised pour lip, and a drain-back channel defined by a space between the raised pour lip and the raised rib. The drain-back channel collects excess material dispensed via the dispensing aperture and drains the excess material back to a receptacle. The closure further includes a cap portion hingedly connected to the base portion. The cap portion rotates relative to the base portion about the hinged connection between a closed position in which the cap portion covers the dispensing aperture and an open position in which the cap portion uncovers the dispensing aperture.

A container provides sealed storage for contents. The container includes a composite top member formed of a panel and a frame. The panel includes an opening for providing access to the contents of the package. The frame includes a closure member that is molded in an open position, and which can be moved to a closed position for closing the opening in the panel. The container is formed of a container body in the form of a tubular member formed to a desired shape. The container body is closed using the top member that closes a top opening of the container body, and a bottom member that closes a bottom opening of the container body.

A storage means provides sealed storage for contents. A closure means is fused to a container by application of an electro-magnetic field providing a permanent and hermetic seal between the closure and the container. The closure further includes a removable panel to provide access to the contents of the container.

Method for manufacturing a sealable container closure

The invention features a method of selling dosage forms without a prescription. In accordance with one aspect of the invention, the dosage forms are sold in a container displayed on a retail shelf without outer secondary packaging. The container preferably is made of a material through which the dosage forms are visible. In accordance with another aspect of the invention, the container has at least one substantially flat side wall and is laid on a retail display shelf on its substantially flat side wall. The container may be formed to have only one plane of symmetry. At least one of the side walls of the container may be formed to facilitate gripping of the container.

Method of selling dosage forms without a prescription

The invention features a child resistant, moveable closure member and container device and an overcap and container device. The overcap has opposed end walls and opposed sidewalls, with at least one leading locking pin and at least one trailing locking pin in at least one of said sidewalls. The inner closure may have at least one guiding bar, which extends downwardly from its lower surface, that is compatible in shape with an opening slot that may be in at least one of the sidewalls along the upper body of the container. The container further has a fixed cover portion facing the inner closure with a dispensing opening therethrough. At least one of the container sidewalls may have a closing notch, a stopping notch distal to the closing notch, and an opening notch therebetween. When the moveable closure is in the operative closure position, at least one of the leading locking pins is removably engaged in one of the closing notches and at least one of the trailing locking pins is removably engaged in at least one of the open notches, and the at least one guiding bar lies in the opening slot of the container. As the moveable closure is moved to its operative open position, the guiding bar engages and slidably travels along the opening slot. When the moveable closure is in its operative open position, at least one of the leading locking pins is removably engaged in one of the open notches and at least one of the trailing locking pins is removably engaged in one of the stopping notches.

Child-resistant closure for dispensing containers

A molded article is produced by a method of compression molding employing a specially shaped billet of thermoplastic material which is positioned at a predetermined location in a predetermined orientation with respect to the mold cavity surfaces of a mold part. In a preferred embodiment, the billet has a generally egg shape and is located adjacent a mold surface defining a small mold cavity region between two larger cavity regions.

A spray dispensing closure includes a spray plug and a cap cooperating therewith to selectively occlude passages in the spray plug. In one embodiment, a spray plug includes a set of inner passages for conveying product from a dip tube through the spray plug and a set of outer passages for conveying air from a head space in the container. The inner passages communicate with an inner flow space and the outer passages communicate with an outer flow space. A cap cooperates with the spray plug to define an outer chamber and an inner chamber which are isolated from one another when the cap is in the closed position, thereby preventing the mixing of air and product. As the cap is moved to the open position, the cap chambers are permitted to communicate with one another and, as the container is squeezed, a product/air mixture is formed in the closure. A central spray plug post has an upper portion that forms at least one restrictive passage with an inner wall of the cap when the cap is in the open position. As the air/product mixture flows through the restrictive passages, a spray mist is formed and dispensed through at least one dispensing orifice formed in the cap and communicating with the restrictive passages. In an alternative embodiment, only a single set of inner passages are provided on the spray plug and communicate with the head space in the container. A series of dip tube exit passages are formed by a proximal end of the dip tube and a plurality of dip tube end engaging ribs extending from the spray plug. When the container is squeezed and the cap is open, product is conveyed from the dip tube and into the inner passages to be mixed with air from the head space.

A closure is provided for a container. The closure has a body and a lid. The closure includes a tamper-indicating member connected to the body of the closure by an anchor member received in an anchor member-receiving aperture defined in the closure body. The tamper-indicating member is also connected along a frangible junction to the lid of the closure. A plug member extends from the tamper-indicating member and is receivable in a plug member-receiving aperture defined in the body. When the tamper-indicating member is depressed to force the plug member into the plug member-receiving aperture, the frangible junction is broken, and the tamper-indicating member is retained in its depressed position. This provides an indication that the closure may have been previously opened. Also, an overhanging portion of the lid can be readily engaged by a finger to facilitate opening of the lid relative to the body of the closure.
