The invention relates to a method and a system for purifying process water, particularly for continuously purifying process water in the paper industry. The method comprises at least one process water treatment step, which comprises the following steps: a) an anaerobic purifying step, wherein process water to be purified is brought in contact with anaerobic microorganisms in an anaerobic reactor in order to decompose impurities present in the waste water, b) a first separating step, wherein gases present in the process water obtained in step a) are separated from said process water, and c) a second separating step, wherein solids present in the process water obtained in step b) are separated from the process water.

A reactor for biological purification of waste water includes a reactor vessel having a substantially flat or a round bottom, at least one supply pipe arranged in a lower region of the reactor vessel for feeding the waste water to be purified into the reactor, at least one fluid discharge pipe for discharging purified waste water from the reactor, at least one solid matter discharge pipe arranged in the lower region of the reactor vessel for discharging solid matter from the reactor and at least one diverting means including at least one diagonally extending section. The at least one diverting means is designed and/or arranged so that solids sinking to the bottom of the reactor from the upper region of the reactor are deflected so that the solids settle in a region of the at least one solid matter discharge pipe and are discharged from the reactor through the at least one solid matter discharge pipe.

The invention relates to a reactor for anaerobically purifying waster water, especially waste water from the paper industry, comprising a reactor vessel, several inlets arranged in the bottom region of the reactor vessel to feed waste water to be purified into the reactor, at least one outlet for discharging purified water, and at least one sediment drain. One or more inlets are fed by a supply pipe, and several supply pipes are fed by a collecting supply pipe. In order to ensure that waste water to be purified is fed as regularly as possible at the bottom of the reactor vessel, at least the majority of the supply pipes of a collecting supply pipe supply waste water to be purified to a maximum of 10 inlets, and at least the majority of said supply pipes each have a control valve.

Disclosed is a reactor for anaerobically treating waste water, especially treating waste water from the paper industry. Said reactor comprises a reactor vessel, at least one supply pipe which is arranged in the bottom area of the reactor vessel and is used for feeding waste water that is to be treated into the reactor, at least one supply distributor for mixing the waste water fed to the reactor with the medium located in the reactor, at least one overflow port which is disposed on the top reactor vessel and is used for discharging treated water, and at least one separator. The supply distributor is provided with at least one deflection means that is embodied such that waste water discharged from the at least one supply pipe is diverted into a circular current from the perspective of the cross-section of the reactor, one to 80 percent of the cross-section of the reactor being filled by the at least one deflection means. The invention further relates to a method for anaerobically treating waste water.
