In a method of cooling and/or lubricating of rolls and/or rolling stock according to which a cooling medium is applied to the rolls from a plurality of nozzles/nozzle rows, on one hand, and for lubrication, on the other hand, base oil is applied to the rolling stock in front of a roll gap, wherein the nozzles/nozzle rows are adjusted separately and independent from each other the cooling medium is applied to the rolls separately from the base oil, and finally, the base oil without water as a base medium is applied directly to the rolling stock over an entire width thereof in a very small amount in comparison with a conventional amount. To this end, media separating means is arranged between the nozzles/nozzle rows for applying cooling medium to the rolls and the nozzles/nozzle rows for applying base oil to the rolling stock.

Method of and device for cooling and or lubrication

A device for measuring the roll gap () between the working rollers () of a cold or warm rolling stand for rolling out narrow or wide strips of metal, especially NE metal strips, by means of roll gap sensors () whose signals are transmitted to the servo-valves of the compressed oil control as a roll gap setpoint value for the piston cylinder units influencing said roll gap (), and used to provide a roller gap measurement which is also suitable for such cases involving the lateral progression of said strip. In order to achieve said aim, the position or travel sensor () is provided in at least one bending cylinder () for the working cylinder () for indirect reference measurement of the roll gap via the positively or negatively acting bending cylinders ().

Device for measuring the roll gap between the working rollers of a cold or warm rolling stand

A device with a stepped adjustment for adapting the vertical position of the rolls of a roll stand to the rolling line, wherein the rolls are supported on both sides in chocks and arranged so as to be raisable and lowerable in roll housings, particularly in a four-high skin pass stand or sizing stand operated with low rolling force. The chocks of one of the rolls have on their sides facing the roll housings a toothed segment and complementary toothed rails are arranged in the roll housings opposite the toothed segments and are movable toward and away from the toothed segments.

A device and a method for rapid roll changes in a six-high roll stand, wherein the device includes a roll change carriage with a unit for moving the carriage relative to the roll stand parallel to and transversely of the rolling direction, and two retaining components for a pair of work rolls and a pair of intermediate rolls, wherein the retaining components are arranged next to each other and form a side-shifter cassette, wherein the retaining components have guide surfaces for the chocks of the rolls, and wherein the change carriage has in the common rolling plane a device for pushing the rolls in and out. Each retaining component has for receiving a lower intermediate roll with the chocks thereof an intermediate frame with a unit for moving the intermediate frame into and out of the side-shifter cassette.

Device and method for rapid roll changes in a six-high roll stand

An apparatus for keeping cold strip dry in the runout of cold rolling and strip rolling plants includes units for deflecting liquid rolling medium in the area of the strip runout and/or for the removal of spray liquid adhering to the surfaces of the strip, wherein these units are logistically combined, the apparatus including the following components a fixedly installed partition wall having an upper portion above the strip runout extending to the stand platform and a lower portion below the strip runout extending to the base plate, a moveable partition equipped with moveable components for facilitating a problem-free roll exchange, a roll body blower constructed for deflecting squeezed-out rolling medium from the finish-rolled strip, a roll body sealing unit constructed for sealing the roll space above the strip relative to the strip, a strip edge blower constructed for producing an air flow perpendicularly to the strip in the roll gap on the exit side above the strip runout, and a vapor-exhaust unit for producing an air flow extending parallel to the strip travel direction above and below the strip in the strip channel.

Apparatus for keeping cold strip dry in the runout of cold rolling

An arrangement for cooling rolled strips, particularly for laminar cooling when rolling aluminum strips, includes cooling segments whose outer sides are closed with a cover, wherein each cooling segment has a media gap extending over the entire length of the cooling segment, and wherein several cooling segments can be arranged next to each other in such a way that a media gap is obtained which extends without interruption from cooling segment to cooling segment.

Arrangement for cooling rolled strips

The disclosure relates to a window layout and a work roll chock design of a four-high rolling mill stand, including two spaced upright housing posts having windows, in which the housing ports have roll bending devices for the work rolls and the chocks of the work rolls are mounted so as to be horizontally and vertically disposed relative to inner window chock support members, which in turn are connected to outer window blocks affixed to the housings. To effect a roll change of both work rolls as a unit with a roll change device arranged in front of the operator side window, the work roll chocks are provided with roll separator units for holding the rolls apart and stabilizing the unit and a locking device for preventing relative horizontal movement of the work rolls during a roll change.
